I will give you a example.

I was so frustrated with Blanco for the longest time. He kept hitting all those fly balls for outs like he thought he was the Babe. The most stubborn player I have seen in a long time for the Giants. He finally wised up and started hitting balls on the ground and bunting more. He now has become a solid pro. He gets it now. He learned ..he believed he could turn it around....Blanco tormented me for a long time...he has earned his respect for learning

He also has learned to take more walks...important with his speed.

OK, interesting take. And maybe McGehee will indeed come around. But if he doesn't....will you then admit he sucks? What if Blanco had never improved?

That's a fair point....a sportswriter I used to like named King Kaufman once used good ol' Neifi Perez to point out that even the very worst MLB player is REALLY REALLY good at baseball, like better at it than 99.999% of the humans on Earth. Still, once you are in the majors, some players can cut it and some can't. I'm genuinely curious if you ever think that a Giants player just isn't good anymore, or at all. I get good vibes and all, but McGehee isn't reading this. You can tell us what you think.
Dude, this is like asking Dubya if he ever snorted or toked.

Question for the experts: let's say Felix loads the bases, then gets pulled. Reliever comes in and gives up a bases clearing double, and the Giants win 3-2. Does Felix get the loss? He left the game with the lead, but the runners on were 'his'. I guess he does get the L?

And then if there are 2 on, he leaves, reliever gives up an Earl Weaver...then the reliever gets the L?

So you coached....did you ever coach anyone who just couldn't cut it?

I mostly coached kids. little high school. and some college kids in the summer.

My job was to teach not tell kids they can't play. I always believed that every kid could get better with encouragement .
