And yet he didn't. Stratton has definitely exceeded my expectations for him so far this season.

And he's issued zero walks tonight. Who does he think he's pitching against, the Giants? (Because that meme never gets old).
And he is no longer a 1-pitch pitcher.

Earlier this season (hell, LAST WEEK) I was convinced his future was in the bully due to his lack of a FB.

Boy was I wrong.

After starting the season 0 for 17, Longoria has been on fire! He's slashing .464/.500/1.000 from his first hit of the season until that home run he hit.

Make that .483/.516/.935 with that single.

It's nice to be wrong when a player does better than you expected.
Not that I didn’t like him, I just didn’t think he could consistently get into the 6th with JUST a curve. I still thought he could be a very effective 2-inning reliever or fireman.

Long term, you could be right. But here's to him continuing this kind of performance for a long term in a Giants' uniform.

Once again Bochy lets his starter linger too long :L

Surprised Stratton started the 8th inning. But, then again, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

It would be nice if he establishes himself as a solid MLB #3, but what we need are top-of-the-rotation guys for “tomorrow”. We got lots of 3’s and 4’s in the minors (Anderson, Beede, Suarez, Adon...).

Now he's lost his W for sure after pitching amazingly. And the Giants get to play extras.
