It's not the Giants' way to kick Pence to the curb on trash day.

But there is no classy way to say, "You are not able to do your job anymore, no matter how hard you work and no matter how good a teammate you are. Thanks for the years. We'll pay you until the end of the year, and you can consider becoming a coach in our system."

I mean, he's not stupid. I'm not saying DFA him but he's gotta understand if they call him in and say we have to give someone else a shot. He's a team guy I think he will understand.

True story. But as long as Nick Lowry's name is not on the list, we still have hope.
Even if he were on the list, he would still outlive all of us, and buy rounds at our funerals.

I know you are right. But I am ready now.

I feel like a fickle fan saying that, but Tommy convinced me with his arguments today. He doesn’t deserve a longer look. There is no reason to believe he will come out of this.

Cal, you called it when he was signed a few years ago. With Pence's mechanics, when they go, they are going to go hard and in a hurry. Sad to see him hustling but not being able perform at his former level.

Whatever the Giants's Way has been, they need to be a little more hard-edged.

This decline of the team does not rest on Pence's shoulders alone, but he's a part. His OPS last year was a career low .702. This season, it is .422.

I seem to recall back on the Mouse board that you could "rep" your own posts, and several of the not so dearly departed/banned did that all the time. It was a violation of "teh code" as I recall.
I don’t remember any rep system there at all...

There used to be a rep system here. But it was a complete mess.

@LHG I'm super chill. Having the power of creating home runs gives me endless serenity. You guys don't appreciate my powers.

Jeebus is there any more clarifying moment than what Pence just did?

I know I have been preaching patience with Pence, but I think I am done now. He is still a pleasure to watch because of his passion, but dude is a mess.

Tolbert made some really good points today that he needs to go, sooner rather than later, the main one being that he has sucked for multiple seasons now so he doesn’t deserve a longer look than he has gotten. You really can’t argue against that point. And there are 4 guys in Sacto who could/should be starting over him right now.
Here is what I picture happening with Pence. He heats up just when Bochy really begins to think about benching him, which gives Pence another month of playing time, where he will cool off considerably again.

Not posting much because watching NBA, but in a nutshell:

1. The pitching is good, Cueto is awesome, Stratton is looking good.
2. Longo heating up
3. Pence is totally, completely, utterly washed up. Done. They simply must put him on the bench soon.
4. Still think we can contend for a wild card but obviously not a sure thing
Just for the record...

THIS is what you are bragging about? THIS creates HRs?

I think @calsnowskier and I are thinking he will never heat up again
