Dodgers acquiring Callaspo, Stults, Ian Thomas (possible LOOGY), and Juan Jamie (possible Withrow replacement; throws 95-100 MPH, walks everybody)

Yeah, not much going on here other than making room for Oliveras and shedding some salary, perhaps?

Stults got DFA'd, so there's that.

I guess the Front Office sees some promise in Callaspo as a bench bat / all-over utility player. Maybe this was just getting something instead of nothing before the pending DFA of Uribe when Olivera shows up?

Justin Turner is the primary 3B at this moment.

That was just the best I could come up with. Grasping for straws, really.

The relievers coming back aren't really that good. The Dodgers are going to save a million bucks, but since when did the Dodgers care about that?

Juan Uribe is a better defender than Callaspo, and probably a better hitter. I guess Callaspo adds versatily since he is a switch-hitter?

This makes about as much sense as the time that the Dodgers DFA'd Shawn Tollesson when there wasn't even a longjam on the 40-man roster.

Seems like trading each teams crap players. Not much gained either way IMO

Per Friedman, Uribe's agent requested he play everyday, which essentially facilitated a trade.

That makes a little more sense now.

Yeah. That definitely adds some logic.

To be honest, this trade only seems significant because Uribe was such a likeable guy. In baseball terms, it's not really going to have much of an impact on the rest of the season.
