I know nobody wants to read a positive thread after today's game, but you have to be impressed by Utley, Howard, and Byrd so far. They're the only reason we're even close to .500 as the SP has been average and the relief pitching has been inconsistent... at best.
Utley: .344/.399/.547 3 HR 18 RBI 160 OPS+
Howard: .256/.320/.466 7 HR 21 RBI 115 OPS+
Byrd: .306/.350/.500 4 HR 21 RBI 133 OPS+
Obviously, I expect Utley to come back down even further to Earth, but if these guys can keep producing at a similar level, we have a shot at a playoff spot.
