At the risk of over simplifying things, why do the Sharks stop trying when they're ahead in the 3rd?

I don't buy Drew's "bad puck drop" theory. What happened there was the Sharks got caught sleeping.

Great... another 3-1 lead going into the 3rd results in a shootout. That's never a good feeling.
There's a lot of season left but between the spotty goaltending and the general lack of effort late in the game, the Sharks need to fix some problems with the quickness.

Shootout wins are nice, but no playoffs games will be decided with a shootout this year.
I'm pretty stoked with the homestand sweep but it wasn't exactly a dominant showing.

Took all 6 points in a huge 3 games these past 4 days so that is nice.

Gave out 2 but both to teams we have games in hand on with the division lead as well.

Quickness isnt the problem, they proved that skating with St Louis, its really about focus and to a degree that lands on Tmac, its crazy how good he can have those guys playing and just as equally as bad.

Goaltending, im not sure whats going on with Nemo but he sure has gone Nabby this season, giving up goals and clearly stoppable shots. Good thing is its still early in the season and he will have time to work it out, and when he gets hot its usually for 20+ games. Should see a stalock start here soon
