I still think he gets traded, it'll be a deal where we have to eat some of his contract but it has to be done, he's really an over rated third line center where for short stretches plays above his ability. He was definitely never worth 7 million a year. That was just ineptitude right along with the Ristolinan deal. Unfortunately getting rid of some of these contracts isn't going to bring back high rewards. Hayes should of been dealt last trade deadline, Fletcher did nothing. We got absolutely nothing for JVR or Hayes. Total mismanagement.

Don't for get the modified no trade and full no trade clauses Chuck felt the need to include. Hayes with a M-NTC, Deslauriers M-NTC and Sanhein Full NTC. I was surprised to see these are the only 3 left with them. But really, what was it about these 3 players to have a NTC?

The Deslauriers one cracks me up honestly. It's not a huge deal because it's like 1.5M, so whatever. And honestly, he's fine. But a 4 year deal with any kind of trade protection for a 4th line guy is just ridiculous. There's no way any other team offered him anything close to that.

I think I could get a 2 year league minimum deal from Chuck if I had a chance to negotiate with him.

Lots of stuff on twitter the past 24 hrs or so that if Michkov is available at 7 the Flyers will seriously consider it.

Kinda surprising to me.

With so much uncertainty with Russia, I would rather see them going another direction. Ideally, he goes in the first 5 picks. Benson or Leonard at 7 would be a great move in the right direction to rebuild.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, Michkov will be in Russia with SKA Saint Petersburg for the next 3 years!! And what if he never leaves Russia!? We'll have completely wasted the 7th overall pick...

I guess that's not as bad as completely wasting the 2nd overall pick. Fuck me...Lol

Very surprising. The reward may be high, but the risk is way too high in comparison, in my opinion.

If you could draft him in the 2nd round, sure, but this is ridiculous at #7 overall.

Does anyone know what players besides Hayes who will be involved? Is it just trade Hayes and retain half of salary for a late 1st rounder?

Toronto gets TK
Stl gets O’Reily & Hayes.

The Athletic essentially saying the deal was supposed to be Hayes (50%) and Sanheim for Krug and a 1st. There were rumors that more guys were involved earlier, but sounds like that was where they landed.

But Krug doesn’t want to waive to go to the Flyers. As a 32 yr old with 4 years left on his deal, can’t say I blame him tbh. It would essentially end his chances at a cup.

Same story said the next step is probably looking for a 3rd team to be Krug’s final destination.
