It’s running backs. Great running backs are found all throughout the draft. There may be a couple unheralded names in there that we don’t know now, but we will know them in a year or two.

Pretty recently they are often found between pick 20 and 50.

But in this draft I think you can get a good one later on. Deep draft.

Kenneth Walker and Breece Hall should go rd2.
James Cook rd3. Probably the best receiving RB in the draft.
Zamir White is basically already on the Niners. He just doesnt know it yet. One of the biggest freaks in the whole class and loves contact.
Rachaad White and Pierre Strong are older so they'll be values probably around rd4
Tyler Badie should probably go after them but I think he is being underrated as a runner a bit even if his receiving skills are going to get him drafted.

What about Kyren Williams? I am surprised he didn't make any top 3 rounds.

It looks like we're going to see the running backs starting to come off the board in round 2. Walker might go in the late first round.

@Clayton - Simms has Walker, Hall, Pierce, Cook, and Ty Davis-Price. Hall is the favorite to go off the board first. Your thoughts?

Simms puts out a QB list and mentions that his dad looks at his notes and I pay attention.

Simms other lists haven't hit on his hot takes at all IIRC. Id put Pierce in rd3 and that would be the 8 rbs I like along with the ones I listed earlier

Like most years, the top few RBs will go where projected, but once we are in day 3 teams will take them in an order that won't make sense for most.

I have heard this is mostly a committee class of RB. Supporting cast type. Thoughts?

I can't argue against that.
James Cook can be a 3 down back but if he is picked up by NE, he'd be a good fit as a 3rd down back and rotational back next year.

After the first 3 or 4, most likely. I'd have Hall, Walker, Spiller and maybe White as exceptions to that. Robinson and Pierce need to improve in pass pro and receiving to bump up.

Why is the fastest RB in the draft not listed?
Pierre Strong 4.37 speed

"first-team FCS All-American and All-MVFC honors in 2021, leading the FCS with 1,686 rushing yards and ranking second with 18 rushing TDs (7.0 yards per carry on 240 totes in 15 starts, also 22-150-6.8 receiving)."

Poor Walker is doomed now that he was drafted by Pete Carroll.

Level of competition and a huge workload. Intriguing, but has his warts too.
