Nobody else seems to want to start this, so what the heck. No idea what to do for scoring. Do we even care who wins?

If I was Denver I would trade their 2nd for a 2nd and 3rd next year. I would also trade the first third for a 2nd next year or the second 3rd for a 3rd and a 4th next year.

I think Denver's team is OK this year. Sign a bunch of 1 year contracts so they expire and then Denver will have a lot of draft picks next year to help with the burden of Russell Wilson's new contract.

If you are looking for young guys to offset Wilson’s new contract drafting them this year would be better option, as most guys drafted on day 3 need a year of development. Given next year we have no 1st and no 2nd, getting a player ready to contribute week 1 is less likely.

The trick will be to draft them this year and find a way to hide them until next year. There are not a ton of open roster spots.

Paten is supposed to be the draft Guru, Plus Denver's core players are locked up for a couple of season. I think if Denver could trade these picks for better picks next year than it will benefit the team more. And you know when you trade for a second next year you might get lucky and it be much higher than you originally projected.

Even the best drafting GMs do not hit on 100% of their picks, 50% is fantastic, and that is with picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds, the later rounds are much more difficult to count on.

We have the following starters to slated to be free agents next year:
  • Bradley Chubb
  • Calvin Anderson/Billy Turner/Tom Compton
  • Sam Martin
  • Dalton Risner
  • Dre'Mont Jones
The following expected contributors are free agents next year:
  • Malik Reed
  • Eric Tomllinson
  • Andrew Beck
  • DeShawn Williams
  • Alex Singleton
  • Mike Boone
There are some other guys that may be cut in cap savings, the one name that I keep hearing is Ronald Darby.

Can we please stick to the contest in this thread? Draft chat in the draft chat discussion thread. Much easier when viewing results and keeping track of picks if we stick to that. I don't want to come off as a fun hater but I don't really want this thread to be a bunch of draft discussion so people can view predictions a little easier. Thanks.

What a fun hater.

(Place holder for my picks so it doesn't get lost in the DC drama.)

Except for the fact you can't edit your post so it was another wasted post we all have to scroll through just like this one. ;)

Since these things are an exercise in futility may as well have some fun with it:

Round 2 - Aidan Hutchinson Michigan - falls after picture of Aidan hitting Tunsil's face mask bong in his green room suit in parking lot before entering draft.
Round 3 - Greedy Williams LSU - tells teams his idol has always secretly been Champ Bailey and regrets not following in his footsteps to Georgia and won't make that mistake in NFL so will only sign with Broncos.
Round 3 - Christian Harris ILB Alabama
Round 4 - Tre McBride - CSU - tells teams he loves Colorado and won't leave so falls and Broncos wait and take him in 5th
Round 4 - Dylan Parham - OG Memphis
Round 5 - Trade to Jets for 2023 3rd round pick
Round 6 - Smoke Monday, Safety Auburn
Round 7 - EJ Perry QB Brown
Round 7 - Matt Araiza K - SD St

GP gets 10 year extension :)

All the better reason to trade these picks for higher picks next year.
