The ILB from Dallas that Face and ATL liked is gonna sign for $9/yr in KC. I don't think we have that kind of cap room right now.

I hope we do. We restructured a bunch of contracts and released some guys. Plus, the cap was increased by $10 mill.

Depends on what kind of sales the FA's in the 2nd hand thrift category are having. I could probably find a coupon somehwere

Really hoping they make an attempt at Tre Boston.

I've already lowered my expectations though after Bell decided to be a d-bag again. Doubt we see anything very exciting happen in FA for the Steelers.

Tre Boston would be a gift to the Steelers fans after all this offseason bullshit.

NE. There's a thread on here about them signing nobody so far.

We usually aren't in on the high dollar FA signings on day 1 except to lose players. The Steelers are usually in on the second and third wave of signings.

Chris Hubbard to the Browns. 5 year 37.5 Million. 18 Million Guaranteed.

Good Job Chris. Sorry you had to go to the Browns for it, though.

Ah well, at least he got to choose himself and didn't get stuck there like ole Sammy Coates did.

Didn’t read but I’m hoping that is just another spin on he could be back if he takes a huge paycut

The tweet states he will test the open market first. I doubt they would bring him back for anything but a deep discount.

Well technically Free Agency hasn’t even started yet. All those “deals” you saw today aren’t real until tomorrow. Some of those reports could be false. Hence why they refer to Monday & Tuesday before FA as the Tampering Period.

Steelers could still make high profile moves tomorrow. Their PR group are much more tight lipped about these things. They could very well have deals in place but we won’t hear about it until tomorrow.

That said, last report I read said AVill restructured putting the Steelers only $2.5mil under the cap. They would still need to officially release Mitchell to get anywhere close to making a high profile move.

Fun fact: this is the highest cap restructure in franchise history this offseason. I believe the restructures of DeCastro, Tuitt, Brown, AVill, etc has saved them just over $28mil, last record was set in 2012 offseason with $25mil worth of restructures.

Let us pray that if he does come crawling back that the coaches don’t view him as the starter anymore!!

If Nelson comes in then it would have to be at Marty B’s expense... not that they need to cut him, but Nelson would be pegged to take over the WR Y role that Martavis plays. Not a bad move, just don’t think it’s a necessary one.

Really happy for him if it’s true. He earned a payday. Browns got themselves a fairly cheap OT with good upside.

Yes @Wamu , that is a compliment to the Browns.
