Rory's like a combined 2 inches on putts from being at least 1 under. He was playing great but just couldn't get them to drop.

That is exactly right. His ball striking has been on but he could not get putts to fall yesterday and especially today.

Rory is 4 over. It's a long shot but if the course gets tougher in the afternoon all the leaders could stall. We know Rory is capable of going low tomorrow morning ...say 6 under. But he would need a huge collapse from a lot of players but as we know that can happen when the leaders get a dryer course later in the day.

I really like the look of this course

I love this course but Sergio has a point. There is a dozen different things that make this a great test for the worlds best golfers. What it did not need are greens that are not refined. The issue reported are the 2 different grasses in the greens that grow at different rates. The greens are fast but you don't get the pure roll that you get at other venues that are far less important than a US Open.

Spieth is absolutely sick. Having a former caddie from the course working his bag is really paying dividends.

They knew about this problem for a while. The greens needed to be renovated, they knew they needed to be renovated, but they couldn't close the course to do what they needed to do because it's a cash strapped county that dumped a bunch of money into the place and cutting off the revenue from greens fees was absolutely not an option.

If I heard it right ...Fox put microphones in the holes. I don't recall that ever being done before.
Jordan is pretty chirpy after missed putts.

Pretty inventive of Fox if all that is true.

Last year on Sunday they made the course real easy. They put the pins in easy spots and gave everyone the chance to score well, essentially guaranteeing Kaymars victory. Do you think they do the same this year, or will today be the highest scoring round of the tournament? And who has the best chance in each scenario? Thoughts?

Day having a real tough time of it. I said this before but Rory really was less than an inch combined from being up a couple of strokes right now. He played great golf the last 24 holes.
