The PGA has a website with live coverage similar to the Masters', featured group, holes 12-15 and a 360 degree view or something or other. Can't speak for Comcast, but Direct TV has the U.S. Open Experience on 701. Great coverage if you can get it.

I've been watching at work on Fox live streaming...featured group.

Idk why Phil laid back on #12...that's an easy 3...you know you're going to give a couple back at some point.

The course is playing a little friendlier than I was expecting. Not much carnage. We'll have to see if it gets more fiery for the afternoon wave.

Several tied at -3...Kuchar, Reed, Dustin Johnson notables.

Watched last night and wasn't impressed with Fox's coverage. They were missing some of the screen graphics you get with other broadcasts. They show a player putting or hitting a shot, but they don't show their current score or their name. but they did a good job showing a threesome that was a combined 27 over par.

I found it painful. Do I really need Joe Buck covering my golf now? You could feel that they were rookies announcing golf tournaments. And it all gets exacerbated because you don't hear a familiar golf voice.

Fox would have been well advised to sign a veteran to be the foundation. I would have backed up the brinks truck to sign Nick Faldo. He has the perfect golf voice and the golf hardware to be the rock of your broadcast.

I really like Norman. I would have thought he would have been more entertaining. But your right, he was just flat.

I intended to have more updates, but my early thoughts.

USGA...after teasing the players with a super fast course during practice rounds, they watered the course Wed night and reportedly Thurs night as well...combine with slight overcast conditions, that's made the course far more receptive...some 20+ guys were even or better after 18.

I think they will water the course again tonight, but none on Saturday...if that happens even par might win this thing. The set up will separate the field and the cream will eventually...initially I thought we might have a total fluke winner.

Carnage...Fowler stunned me a bit...Tiger didn't.

All in all I thought Fox did a fair job...to be honest I had the sound down on some of the TV broadcast...at work, the online feature group coverage was pretty good...Mark Brooks is doing a good job as analyst...the play by play guy was just okay...you can tell he's a football guy trying to do golf....whereas as a Vince Scully would sound natural with anything sport he covered

Day has had issues with dizzy spells. I believe it flared up the last month or so. But I believe this has been an issue for some time. They said he had cat scans done.

I'm think that anyone who can get it to even today could have a shot. I have a feeling the early guys can make a move today but it may be harder for the afternoon leaders.

You can see that Chambers Bay can be easily tweaked to be a nightmare. I think the Chambers Bays claws are coming out tomorrow and the player with the least amount of scratches will win.

You could watch some golf online and I believe Phil was in the featured group.

But you are 1000% correct. You have Rory on the course, (you know the guy with 4 majors) and Phil.
30 minutes of those guys bullshitting? Not to mention the fox guys think they are still in the booth of a football game. They are a far cry from the tact, pace and demeanor that golf announcers should have.

Maybe CBS & NBC have been doing it so long and set the tone, that we don't like it any other way.
