They're great but I'd consider them mini series unless we're including those as well.

Glory and Gettysburg immediately come to mind but I know there has to be more.

Kind of a war movie but a spanish language film called voces inocentes or innocent voices. Damn good movie. I think most here would enjoy it if you can handle subtitles.
