how does markakis get beat out by this clown victorina...if any of our OF that should have gotten snubbed it should have been jones (the one who won it)...he along with jim johnson single handedly lost us 4 games early in the season with his poor defensive play

I heard it's because of his range or lack thereof. Meaning you can't make errors on balls you can't get to.

It says more about Markakis' range (or lack thereof) than it does about his defensive ability. Markakis has had a below average UZR in each of the last five seasons. -32.3 UZR from 2009-13, -6.4 UZR/150.

Manny and Hardy deserved the award. AJ was a little average but his great offensive numbers and the team's reputation helped him. Honestly, Nick didn't deserve the gold glove. Yeah no errors but he actually was below average in most defensive statistics whereas Victorino was one of the best.
