i don’t think you’re going to find too many people who will complain about this one. This guy can get after the QB and is strong against the run. It’s obvious Elway doesn’t want to lose that nasty edge on defense. This unit can still be great and Chubb is going to be a very nice addition.

I think there are a lot of really good players that were stacked up at the top of this draft, but the only offensive player who could have made an immediate impact was gone with the 2nd pick. I think Chubb comes in and makes an instant impact on the 2018 season. Best defensive player in this year’s draft and when you pick in the top 5 only once every few years you need this picks to come in and contribute right away. Especially since this team isn’t quite as broken as it may look at first glance.

You thoughts on the Broncos first pick?

Looking at who was taken through pick 11 (20/20 hindsight is so great!), I can’t imagine anyone who isn’t happy with the pick. Even those of us who were hoping beyond hope that Darnold would drop to 5. Vea, Payne, Davenport, Miller were players chosen on that next tier, a sizable step down from Chubb.

Chubb was my favorite non QB selection, so I was almost as thrilled as Von. ;)

Watch Von Miller react to the Broncos picking Bradley Chubb

The only bad thing about the Chubb pick is now I am going to be walking about and people are going to stare and laugh at me thinking my jersey is inappropriate.

I call #55.

Keep in mind we showed very little interest in Bradley Chubb because we didn't think he would be there.

We nixed a nice trade with the Bills that was in place because we didn't think he would be there.

Chubb: 'It definitely was a surprise' to be drafted by Broncos

I don't think anyone was placing high odds on Chubb being there at number 5 but there were many scenarios being floated that could work out well for the Broncos. I did see a couple of drafts that mocked him to Denver. I'm happy about it, as I have been an advocate in not moving down. The chances of getting a special player are better at the top of the draft and I believe the Broncos have done just that. Anyway, we'll never know what that trade may have netted but it sounds like most Broncos fans are pretty happy this morning!

Now Denver needs offense to get the lead
Last year Denver had the lead after week 4 for like 10 minuites
Get the lead and let the big dogs eat

This is why I think a guy like Dallas Goedert could be a nice addition. He can block to help with run game but also a threat in the passing game. I understand that we have Butt and that there are Vets out there we can get. To draft a guy like Dallas would be an out of the box mindset and I am not sure Elway things that way.

People stare and laugh at you anyway DC - but if you want to believe it is the new jersey - go ahead.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the New York Giants for taking Barkley instead of a QB, and the Browns for taking Ward instead of Chubb.

Without your cooperation, Denver getting the best defensive player in this draft would not have been possible. I do hope your selections work out well for you as I don’t have anything against either of your franchises. ;)

I was all for trading down, but I do love the addition of Chubb. The big question to me is what is his position? OLB? DE? He seems a little big for a OLB, but a little small for a DE in the 3-4 scheme. Great player, and I am sure there is a plan.

OLber VJ said last night
Like wade once said if a talent like Chubb does not fit your defense. You have the wrong defense
I want bigger OLbers like NE always drafts

Congrats Bronco fans on winning the first round. Great pick. I think it's going to be the best pick of the first round.

No doubt OLB. I don’t think you take an elite athlete for DE in our D.

My assumption now is that Walker, last year’s second rounder, has to bulk up and play DE.

Thanks - but not sure can say won the first round. I thought there were a number of quality selections - the Jets and Chargers come quickly to mind.

I'm not sold on any of the QB's. So the Jet pick isn't that great to me.

But the Bronco pick just made every QB in your division cry.
