The Gators were good, but the semenholes were good too...really good. What happened was the greatest game ever seen in the Swamp.

FSU was a juggarnaut. They had unquestionably the best defense in CFB. Their 30 year old QB was poised. However, Florida was just smarter...better coaching and execution overcame a more physical team.

The players were literally punching each other in brawls before the kickoff. GodDAMN I hate florida state.

So then, we had to meet Bama in the SECCG. They were good and played tough, but their D just wasn't prepared for a genius offense. Florida lit 'em up in an orgy of scoring.

Florida State was good. Their best players all drove nice cars and sported thee best shoes. Once again, the enduring underdog spirit at UF and superior offensive creativity saw the day....

Nebraska was the last great team playing "old" CFB. Without a scary bunch of jailhouse thugs at NU, CFB was forced to accept the new style...the grace and genius of Spurrier.
