The numbers are correct which makes me think they bite the bullet and let him play out his last year. It will be surprising if one of the following isn't bought out: Atkinson, Johansen or Peterson.
The Flyers should buy out Peterson this year. Saves $4.0 this year and adds $2.0 next year. That $2.0 comes in the same year that $10.0 comes off the cap between Johansen and Adkinson.
It looks like they are slightly over the cap already for next years with only 18 guys signed. I know they try to avoid LTIR with Ellis, so Johansen or even Atkinson makes sense as they only last 2 years. An even better option would be to buyout Petersen.
A buyout last for 6 years where 4 of the years are at $1.8, one year at $2.6 and one at $3.6. He has three years left so maybe they just want to bite the bullet. Buyout Jahansen and reduce his hit to $1.3 for 2 years. Better yet, do both!
Anyone else watch the game last night? I thought Fedotov looked pretty comfortable in net. He is so fricking big that he looks awkward. He seemed to have good puck control and movement. The two goals he gave up were not going to be stopped by 90+% of goalies.
I still thinks he needs a few practices to get used to the rink size. Back to back games Friday and Saturday. He has to play one of them so I think Saturday,.
My guess is that he gets to start the 2nd game of back to backs against Columbus next Saturday. Ersson can handle today, Monday and Friday. I am definitely going to watch whenever it is to see if we have something.
Kolosov can't get here fast enough. I would think they will try to get him into a few AHL games before considering the NHL. Most likely the backup next year, which is an upgrade (over an orange traffic cone).
If nothing else, Foerster, Brink, Tippett, Frost and York are making this fun to watch. Add TK, Sanheim and Zamula, and you have a team that doesn't quit. What a change from years past!!
It looks like the Flyers and Caps schedule reverse over the last 10 games. Ours went from extremely difficult to not too bad while the Caps have gone from not too bad to very difficult. No excuses!!!!!
Tying the game in the 3rd is a huge step for this team. In years past, they would push and push, then give up a goal to go down by 2. Nice to see the team playing 60 minutes.
I started to worry about Frost when he took a second penalty. Quick way to get back into the Torts dog house. Ersson had so huge stops in the last few minutes.
I saw that Risto and Drysdale have been skating again. I did not, however, see an ETA for a return. I have to give the young dmen credit but they need one of these guys, and Seeler back for the final 2 minutes of a game like last night. Every dman not named York or Sanheim looked like a deer...
DWill was pretty good last year in coverage. Apparently his contract has some outs for the team after year one. That being said, we still need a true #1 CB.
