SHANE

PG - Jason Kidd 28 / Allen Iverson (PG - 10/SG - 8)
SG - Michael Jordan (PG - 10 --last 5 of 2nd and 4th /SG - 20) / Reggie Miller (20)
SF - Dominique Wilkins (30 / Chris Mullin (18)
PF - Karl Malone (30 / Bob McAdoo (18)
C - David Robinson (30) / Nate Thurmond(18)

Dominique will primarily be guarding Lebron bc he has the reach and is about as athletic as you can get to guard a guy like Lebron. The fact is either is going to stop each other and that is expected. Oscar or KD, isn't guarding MJ and MJ will probably go off for 40 in 30 minutes on either of those guys.
I never compared Kidd to Oscar, but his facilitating is one of the best ever just like Oscar and Kidd was more of a threat from outside. I never compared them overall bc that isn't fair to Oscar.

KD is a great already but having MJ an absolute great on the ball defender guard him he will most likely crumble like he always does in big situations, probably run off to play for Ritz's team or something :laugh3:

MJ >>>> KD (probably goes for 40)
Oscar >>> Kidd
LBJ >>> Dominque (both would be unstoppable on offense like MJ and Oscar)
Malone >>>>>> Sikma (probably the biggest mismatch on all facets)
Robinson >>> McHale (McHale great defensively but so is Robinson and offensively it is no match)

VS

UK

Starters

PG Oscar Robertson
SG Kevin Durant
SF LeBron James
PF Kevin McHale
C Jack Sikma

Bench

PG Chris Paul
SG George Gervin
SF Elgin Baylor
PF Pau Gasol
C Dikembe Mutombo

I like my team across the board. Almost every player could play 2 positions, sometimes 3. Oscar is a dominant force running the show, Durant is a match-up nightmare 7' stretching the floor, LBJ is unguardable. McHale can't be stopped one on one in the post. Mutombo isn't a scorer, but with this unit, great D and rebounding is a perfect fit. As great as the first unit is, there's not a lot of fall of from the bench, plus I can mix and match. I can bring in Sikma to pull a center away from the basket. I can go Pau and McHale and have two post scorers. I can put LeBron at PF and go with Iceman or Baylor at the 3. There's no stopping the O, and there's a lot of great defenders and big at every position.

I like Shane's team, for me though, playing MJ at PG is a terrible call. MJ is the greatest SG ever, and while he can play PG, and play it well, he is not the PG Oscar is, no how, no way. I like my squad either way, but huge if MJ is a point man

I mean...why not just post the players for the match-up LOL . You posted my original comments from when MJ was PG and your revised lineup and comments from after you switched. Kind of BS

What do you mean? I thought my starters had to play 30 mins and since that wasn't the case I was able to switch minutes. Since MJ is only handling the ball for the 5 mins in the 2nd and 5 mins in the 4th it changes my strategy up a bit. I am not going away from my strategy, it is still the same but I have Kidd playing more minutes now. But I want Reggie in there when MJ is playing point....same strategy

People will vote on who they think will be the best team. If they think MJ isn't good to handle the ball in those 10 mins...fine. I disagree. It is what it is lol

I need some time but I think offensively is closer between Admiral and McHale not defensively... Admiral was a DPOY if I'm not mistaken... he also went off for like 70+ points to win the scoring title once on the last game of the season... I think Admiral gets the shaft because of what Dream did to him on the up and under (which is McHale's big move ironically)...

What I mean is, you posted my original comments from when you had MJ as your starting PG. You posted your comments from when you changed it. If you were going to post comments, how about using the ones I made once you changed your starting lineup lol

yeah, I was thinking about just adding those comments to those and I don't want to be like Stoke on the last draft, having a full page lol. But MJ is playing the last 5 of 2nd and 4th so he technically isn't the starter anymore

Either way MJ goes off for 40, even playing the center position  jk

I actually changed my lineup close to 4 times though. I had MJ at pg first, then changed it to Kidd for awhile, changed it back, then again. It was tough decision but the more I thought about it I want MJ at PG just for those 10

Here's my thoughts on the situation... changing MJ back was a good thing for Shane... it doesn't change who the man with the ball will be but it gives MJ a chance to set up and catch the ball with the ability to dribble or shot instead of bringing the ball down and having to set up off the dribble... limiting him is fine I think he should be the SG though in that it being the PG says you want to emphasize him bring down the ball... I think this is pretty close because IMO 1 & 3 UK has a good size advantage but the 4 is close lean to Shane and the 2 & 5 are pretty big advantages to Shane... I'd say they even out the 1/3 advantage UK has giving a slight lean to Shane starters... funny thing is the benches are exactly the same type of situation IMO but I think UK has a slight advantage on the bench but it's damn close with those bigs Shane has... with this being so close I gotta give MJ the nod over LBJ... (6-0 vs 2-4) MJ FTW

I agree "it doesnt change whose hands the ball will be in" but dont get me wrong Lebron is the 2nd best player EVER.

MJ is going against KD and either Iceman or Baylor .
LBJ is going against Nique and....Mullin LOL

Subs are playing at least 18 minutes each....seriously, who on my squad can Iverson or Mullin guard one on one?

For my likings, I would have started Mutumbo over Sikma... Not because Mutumbo was better, but because Sikma was a great freethow shooter, and even though both were great defensively, I would take the 3 inches to put onto david robinson...

I think I have shane in a close one... But I do see Lebron being the best player in this game as I don't see an answer for him on Shane's side...

Mother of God:L

You act like Mullin was a slapdick. He averaged 25 ppg or more in 5 straight seasons in the late 80's - early 90's, he faced guys day in and day out that were just as good as Baylor if not better. He was a career 39% 3 point shooter. Baylor never saw a better shooter than Mullin. I am not saying Mullin wins this matchup bc he doesn't but you act like it is a huge advantage. Both players weren't that great of defenders and both could score the ball, Mullin was a great shooter.

Plus, Mullin was a career 87% FT shooter lol

I do think Uk should have put Mutumbo in for a rim protector. There is no one to stop MJ and Nique from driving the lane.
