Sure. But the highly sought after ones aren't going to go to a train wreck situation.

Right now we are potentially looking at the following jobs opening up at the end of the year.

Indy
Giants
Lions
Dolphins
Titans
Niners

Not all of them will open up. But some will and right now they are, except the Niners, more desirable than the miasma that is the Rams.

Nonsense, Rams have some good talent the next head coach will see that.

I believe its 6 winning seasons in 21 as a head coach

I started a thread a couple weeks back calling him the most overrated coach of all time

The Titans have a QB. The Rams don't. Huge difference.
50/50 shot the Rams can get a QB in next draft thats as good as Mariota.

Seems like a pretty bold claim. Maybe.
People talk down EVERY QB class. Everyone thought Winston and Mariota were going to bust.

I will admit that the Rams aren't a destination team at the moment but if this Fisher or LA bs continues Ill probably have a Chiefs logo on here by next year anyways.

Reports: Rams won’t fire Jeff Fisher
Posted by Michael David Smith on December 17, 2015, 3:00 PM EST
View attachment 66007AP
Jeff Fisher is in his fourth year as coach of the Rams, and it’s his fourth losing season in St. Louis. But that doesn’t mean he’s on the hot seat.

According to two reports today, Fisher’s job is safe with the Rams. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that both Fisher and General Manager Les Snead are safe for 2016. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Rams want Fisher to return, although Schefter left open the possibility that Fisher might decide on his own that he wants to step away.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke is focused on the possibility of moving his team to Los Angeles and may not want the distractions that go into hiring a new coach. If the team does move to L.A., Kroenke might want Fisher as the coach because Fisher grew up there and played at USC.

The flip side is, Kroenke could decide to completely clean house and start from scratch. That would mean Fisher, Snead and Rams Executive V.P. of Football Operations Kevin Demoff would all be on the hot seat.

For Kroenke, the first priority is figuring out where his team will play in 2016. The second priority is figuring out who will run his team in 2016.
....when I go to the Pats [pro-shop] to shop, I will make a point to kneel-down and kiss the parking-lot = and thank-Kri$t that we fans here aren't going thru that crap.....*shitty-team,coach,qb/owner/moving/etc.*.

I disagree, if I'm a coordinator, I'm looking at the Rams and salivating, and I'm thinking about they have the best sophomore/rookie combo in the NFL. You have a great back, how many Rbs have 10 rushing TDs and over 1,000 yards rushing rookie season let alone coming off that injury. He has more break away runs than anyone else. Legit defense to go with it, Donald, Quinn, Ogletree, Jenkins, and Gaine are a great foundation. A great punter to go too.

The problem is offense, Austin is a playmaker, but that is all you have at WR, only Fisher would keep throwing Cook out there to start, because he is a Fisher boy. He can't catch or block. Two good offensive rookie linemen in Halvenstein and Brown, and that is it. So you desperately need a number one WR, a qb, and TE and some more olineman. You can make this work, it helps to have two seconds and a first in this coming draft too.

This team can compete with anyone, it starts at coaching. Most people are smart enough to see that.

*........but......we actually did go thru that late-80's/early-90's........victor kiam/james orthwein-ownerships.....how ironic that the Pats were thinking of moving to St.Louis with Orthwein too...!

The Rams have some nice pieces but are missing a lot. And don't have a QB.

Pretending that a new QB fixes that, ignores reality.

Depends. A huge issue is their contracts. Of the top 10 richest Rams, they only have 2 good contracts.

Barron's contract is up and Chris Long will likely be cut so now thats down to 6 bad contracts: James Laurinaitis, Jared Cook, Rodger Saffold, Nick Foles, Greg Robinson, Lance Kendricks and they'll need to find a way to purge them (except maybe Robinson) and move forward while keeping William Hayes, Rodney Mcloud, Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson and replacing Nick Fairley.

2015 was the Rams big year and they blew it.

edit - 2015 not 2016 was their big year. Getting ahead of myself

No where did I say they just need a qb. They need coaching, three more good offensive lineman, two more good WRs and qb. That is a lot.

You have to franchise Jenkins, Saffold you can deal with, he is good when he is not injured. Cook needs to be cut.

No ring Jeff is flat out overrated.

Interesting take. I wonder whether Fisher would be underrated, rather than overrated, had Kevin Dyson not come up one yard short of a TD on the final play of the 2000 SB.

Hue Jackson should be the frontrunner

Didn't he already crash and burn before at HC !!!!!
I don't think Fisher is a bad coach, after all, he hasn't had a viable qb since McNair and he has been building the Rams from near nothing and a patched up qb position the whole time...
How long has he been there, 3 yrs ?....
What did Marvin Lewis win in his first 3 yrs in Cincy, the 8-8 Championship ????
And when it boils down to it, what has he won after over a decade there besides a few division titles....
Playoff win #1 still evades him.....Maybe they ought to consider promoting Hue to HC there in Cincy...

He had multiple chances.

Yes Dyson let him down, but losing to the Ravens the next year was inexcusable and his bad coaching (and a laughably bad intentional grounding penalty...and a drew bennett drop) cost him a very winnable game where his team outplayed New England.

He also struggled to have a good kicker.

I will forever maintain the reason he's not BB is because he didn't have Vinatieri and BB did. (Del Greco missed 2 FGs in the SB, and the next year in the game against the Ravens...one that almost hit his own lineman in the head and was returned for a TD).

He proved that when he had a loaded team he couldn't' get it done.

he tanked a season when the team has 5-2 to try and make a point against VY and all it did was cost both of them their jobs. He's a proven liar. Flat out.

He has a losing record without McNair.

He also had Chris Chandler...who took a team to a 14-2 record and a SB berth after getting away from Fisher and Les Steckel (did I mention he's terrible at hiring offensive coordinators/coaches?) and their idiotic offensive philosophies.

The Rams better fire him this year. Fisher has a habit of turning out a good season when his ass is on the line and then immediately going to shit again. If he's the coach next season, you can book 10-6 with a first round playoff loss followed by 2 consecutive sub .500 seasons. Save yourself the time. Can him now

Good luck with that, we hired his buddy gm after we named him coach, and of course the owner doesn't care.

I think part of the issue is Fisher has never found "his" QB .... But he's had plenty of time to turn a corner, and the Rams just keep ending there seasons sub .500 under his leadership .... My guess is he's fired at the end of the season ...

Obviously they (STL) need some consistently at QB, and imo Robinson is not a LT...but I would take that roster over the 6 you listed.
