I understand where's he coming from. As the Qbs Jay trotted out this season did not do a damn thing to prove they're a starting qb for any team. A open competition should be held for whatever qbs are here. But Kirk, you're not the hot shit you think you might be, by demanding a trade, buddy. 14tds-18int in 9 starts(1 win). Pump them brakes, you'll just end up somewhere as a backup again.

i read that his words were slightly twisted and he was saying that he wants a fair open competition for the starting role.

Who gives a rat's ass about this.....what's the return for him in trade? an 8th or 9th round pick in a draft that only has 7 rounds.......What a boob!!! Where's he gonna go that offers him a opportunity to compete for a starting position after the season that he's had coupled with the current trend of all teams to look for a genuine franchise QB? In truth he's got 3 options............NYJets, Oakland, and here and at this point all three are looking for franchise QB's not named McCoy, Griffin nor Cousins.

Better to be a backup in a situation where management is not deathlock wed to the "starter".

Cousins has stated that "he doesn't make demands and that he doesn't care if he's a backup with the Skins or not. It's in GOD's plan with him."

There we have it, another media personnel making another story out of nothing.

Any one thats perfectly content with just being a backup and cashing a check... I dont want on my team any way. As a coach I wanted that kid who was constantly on my hip wanting to go in over the kid who figured he was too good to be benched.

I think he was being politically correct there Shark. I could be wrong. Maybe in private, he is talking to his agent to find him a place to go. Don't know, don't care anymore. Only news I wanna hear is staff firing. Maybe we'll get something from the Great Bruce Allen when he speaks to the masses on Wednesday

And good cooks can do more with less than ordinary cooks can. Take some of the worse parts of a pig. Look at what can come out of it. Chitlins, pig feets, and snout. (I don't eat any of the crap though)

considering I dont eat pork, I wouldnt know.

as for GOOD cooks, show me ONE that is available and would step into this train wreck. also as I pointed out, give Haslett even a relatively complete defense and he is usually one of the top producers of sacks and turn overs in the league. I dont even expect him to field a top ten defense in yards, or even points given up.

But I do find it funny as heck that if our offense and special teams had not given up roughly 40 points on their own, our defense would have been real close to top ten in points given up this year.

He needs hypnosis after throwing picks. His memory seems to be his own worst enemy.

I assume that goes for Griffin who threw 6 himself to go along with 8 fumbles. The story was apparently mis-reported and Cousins came back to straighten that out.

Of course we could always turn to Colt who only had 3 picks and 6 fumbles.

Hell maybe we can bring back Beck or Campbell.

We already have JC 2.0 under contract.

Colt McCoy had 6 fumbles. How many of those were turnovers? One?
Cousins became a turnover machine, and what made it worse is that he projected himself as a beaten man.
Not what I want leading my team.

Well out TCB. Griffin and Cousins be th came off at times as crybabies or whipped dogs at times. They both seem mentally pretty weak to me. They should both get one more shot in an open competition next year, but I have no faith in either of them right now. I say Washington should trade both of them if they could get good value.

Appreciate your feedback but disagree completely. I would rather strive for a defense like Seattle's (not theirs but that approach) where they hardly give up any pts. It may take several years but I would make that the goal. Not some gimmick defense that will occasionally produce turnovers at the cost of giving up huge plays way too often.

I would also like to see this team be like Seattle in that young players are actually developed to the pt of improving over time because of being coached correctly in practice & in being placed in the right position during games. Regardless of what Haslett was given in the first place I see absolutely no signs of either of these with him in the last 5 years. Are we to totally dismiss LFB's comments?

By all means - place the blame on everyone else - Allen, Snyder, offense, special teams, players, etc. Will make it that much harder to defense next season if/when Haslett's defense sucks yet again.
