Don't be surprised if the Lightning play up to a good team. They have a way of meeting the competition.

They allowed 47 SOG & only took 21. They deserved to lose! Absolutely no defense! 3rd period, they were asleep.

I flat out think the lightning are not going to even make the playoffs this year truly sad

I try to remain optimistic as possible when it comes to everything really but after last night's game something needs to be done. If it wasn't for the 20 year old wonder kid in goal who knows what that score would of ended up? Yzerman has to either make some trades or the coach has to go! Something needs to be done, they don't play with enough urgency. The Bolts have one of the most talented rosters in the NHL but it ain't all about talent, it's about your will to win, hard work, determination and that's lacking at the moment.

One thing I've also noticed is when Boucher got fired, the team made the playoffs the year before and the following year the team got of to a great start and then the bad habits occurred and every snowballed. To me Boucher system get found out about and teams exploited it and he had no answers. That 2012-2013 Lightning team was a hype job and just wondering if this is going to be the exact same. Again the Lightning were in the playoffs last year, got off to a great start and now here come the bad habits and the stretch of losses. Hopefully Cooper has answers unlike Boucher, we shall see. The strange thing is when the Lightning got killed with injuries early in the year they played there best hockey and now with a fairly healthy team they are struggle. I personally like Cooper but somebody has got to be held accountable, this team is way talented to be playing so bad. If I were Yzerman I would be reaching out to Dan Bylsma about possible coaching this team because if things don't improve quickly I would make a coaching change.

Vinny has been real lucky when it comes to contracts. With the money he got for the buyout I wouldn't have given him more than a million a year if I was Philly. Vinny lucked out or has a good agent.

Cooper might be in over his head. He was brought in to turn the team around and all of a sudden he's expected to win the Cup. A lot to ask for from a new coach. I don't think it's really his fault, I just think the expectations became lofty real fast and he might not be up to the task.

Yes , off the start we got we probably thought we were better than we are . I would hate to think we were dogging it/ It doesn't look it. When the players were fighting for a spot on the team we did good , now the roster is set they're playing lousy. Bad luck or complacency !

Possibly true, who on the Lightning is really fighting for a place on the team?

I agree the way this team is playing is un called for! I mean the islanders made us look like a ahl hockey team! yzerman has to do something call up's trades! fire cooper ? if we fire jon cooper i'd hire Paul MacLean. that one year we waited way to long to fire boucher and by the time cooper got in we were way out of the playoffs. Ya doobee i agree we are not a cup contender top 4 nhl team but this for darn sure should be a playoff team.

IDK if they're Cup contenders or not, too early for those predictions IMO, but I don't think Cooper has shown that he could handle the pressure of coaching a team that's expected to compete for the Cup. Not entirely his fault. Lightning went from a team trying to make the playoffs to a team expected to compete for the Cup really quick.

Don't know maybe they should let rick bowness take over if cooper fails to adjust.

But like you said Todd, there are some coaches out there that are more proven than Cooper, maybe the Lightning need to get one of them if they are to be true contenders. As of now, Cooper has become the Bolts' weakest link.

I think they need someone with experience if they're going to replace Cooper.
