NFC could get me to trade up.

Bloomberg and Forbes reported this week that NFC is going to be included in the iphone 6 and Apple has signed payment deals with Visa, MC, and AmEx recently.

So there you go. Sept 9th is the keynote address by Apple and the phone should be premiered then. On sale date will probably be a week later.

NFC could be a game changer if I could seriously throw my wallet away....

I'm interested to see if the iWatch device is announced and if so, how will it be better than any of the other similar devices that are out there. How will it improve my way of life?

I think the answer is not at all since they're simply an extension of what your phone already does.

Let's face it... it's more about upgrading because you have to.

After a few iOS upgrades the hardware can no longer handle the software, and if you don't upgrade iOS a bunch of apps stop working.

Also you learn quickly that you need a bigger storage capacity every time, because as the screens and cameras and cellular data networks improve, you actually use more than your old phone did.

With the possibility that it could tie into health maintenance better than existing smart wearables, it could me more than just a phone extension. I just have a difficult time thinking that Apple would not try to do something different to separate itself from what's already available. :noidea:

I may still have a Blackberry, but the screen isn't cracked and it gets good reception. It may be time to get an i-phone 6. Or, I can still wait for i-phone 7. Maybe 8 or 9.

Nothing about it excites me, but I'll still get one because I am in the ecosystem. Not really sure there is anything any phone can offer that is exciting though. The technology there has just about maxed out. All they can do now is fight over who has the most megapixels, longest battery life, or "clearest" screen. The new payment stuff is never going to happen for me.

I'll probably get one, only because the plan we have allows us to get the latest and greatest replacement every 6 months. But my 5 still works great.:noidea:

Don't a lot of droid phones already have this?

I know my blackberry has had the Mastercard NFC since 2011.

I slightly bigger screen will be nice I suppose. Although I like this size for putting in my pocket.

I won't be going to the 5.5", but will go to 4.7" for your exact reason.

are there a lot of places that use it though? Apple I trust to bring more people to the market so you can actually use NFC for more than vending machines :)

I still don't trust it. Not sure who I trust less...Google or Apple.

The more I think about it the more I like the watch. I like a big phone and have had some pretty clunky ones. The only bad thing about a clunky bastid is digging for it when it rings or you have a text.

If you have a handy smartwatch, then you don't have to dig that fucker out anymore. So, the phone can move in the direction of a mini-tablet because the watch is handy for the all the little shit we do all day...time, phone, read text, check email, check stock market, etc.

That said, Apple's watch probably won't be my choice.

Fair enough, but the game changer comment was just strange when even a lame ass blackberry has this technology.
