I am starting to think that the rally gorilla dude from espn mastered voodoo over the off season.
Please, don't evoke that name. Day is bad enough for him to reappear.I am starting to think that the rally gorilla dude from espn mastered voodoo over the off season.
As dark as times are now I still think we have a decent shot of making the playoffs if we can can get enough guys back and they stay back. I wonder if we don't though if ownership will be willing to increase the budget substantially to extend Yu and maybe add another premium pitcher. I think if we get healthy the offense should be fine for next season. Resigning Soto maybe the best option at C.

Already given up 200 runs and -33 run difference. Both some
of the worst in the majors. Two teams to jump over. If they lose
lose between 2 to 4 games in the standings to the A's by the
end of the month look for Daniels to hoist the white flag and
become a seller at the trading deadline. Also look for
Wash to finally be given his walking papers.
Just kidding Dude. Monkey is of little consequence. Someone should be chasing the A's if not us. Might as well be the Angels. How other teams are doing is obviously the least of our worriersI wouldn't worry about that too much here. Fordman would just IP ban his ass and be done with it or worst come to worse we could block him. Still I doubt he ever finds this website but thats the last I will say of it. Just crazy how many injuries this team has had. I think they very well may have sustained more injuries than they have played games this year.
Can't overlook the Rangers farm system. The Rangers must retain Darvish and build around him. If Darvish leaves as a free agent, we're as good as fucked.
We could be fucked then, unless we come early with a monster offer. As well as Yu has pitched, and with his international appeal, how could his agent not want him to hit FA? A bidding war between the Rangers, Angels, Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, and probably a few more and what are we talking about? $25 million per?
Name me a team, pick one of any era, that "stranger things have happened too" and it ended well?
2012 Oakland A's.
13 games back on June 30.
Hell even better... 5 games back with 9 to play.
You asked for a "stranger things have happened" moment. #bewm
Your pessimism is

It's going to cost that much without getting into a bidding war IMO. But I agree, they need to look to lock him up this winter.
If he finishes in the top 2 for the CY Award again this year doesn't he get to opt out a year earlier? Seems like I remember this from last season.
You know the exact skinny on this?
Realistically speaking, you're talking about one sure thing in our rotation, two injury prone guys that haven't throwin in over a year, and 2 young guys who hardly have any experience. Then, when holland gets back, you'll have 3 injury prone guys and only one young guy.
You can't win games with a rotation of
Darvish
Colby
Robbie
Tepesch
?
Plus an offense that is been off and on all damn season. You just can't.
I know where we are in the season, but I've been around this game for too damn freakin long. You can't win with this rotation. Its a repeat of the early 2000's. Stars on offense, no pitching. The only difference is our stars on offense havent done shit.
In my opinion, the best thing to do would be to do nothing.
Not sure of all this... throwing in the towel before the ASB is a little much IMO. Also, I would say all the injuries will at least buy Wash another season- like him or not.

It's just one guys opinion, but Buster Olney has an article in the Insider today and the title is "Tanaka is $155M Bargain."
Pretty interesting how much time the Yanks have spent studying/researching this guy since 2007.
........Don't know how happy he really is with us. I haven't read/heard anything good or bad. But he seems to be overall satisfied here - other than we haven't scored enough runs for him.
Yu is going to be able to make some outrageous demands. He's earned a lot, so congrats to him. Just hope we can make him happy long term.
