It all starts at the top. Anyone who has been a fan of the Cowboys for more than a day and a half knows Jerry is the real problem. This mess doesn't get fixed until Jerry is gone. JJ emasculates every coach and player that works for him. JJ speaks out of turn on all manner of things, from injury situations, down to who is starting at right gunner on special teams. He hands out horrible contracts to undeserving players and generally mismanages the salary cap at every turn. Jerry absolutely refuses to build a reliable O-line and D-line. There is not one thing on the football side of things that Jerry gets a gold star for. Not one. I have been a fan since I was 6-7 years old, I'm 29 now, and I'm losing my love for this team. I just can't stand watching the same movie over and over.

I too am frustrated with Dez, but He can't throw the ball to himself. How many targets did he have .....maybe 4? Why we gave Romo the contract he has is insane. He should have been forced to play his contract out. Romo has clearly not been the problem this year, but he is absolutely not the answer for this team at this point. There is not a guy on this team over the age of thirty who should be on the roster next year. I can understand retaining Ware and Witten because of the HOF careers they have respectively had. I admittedly know zero about cap, but I say lets suck for another 2 years and fix our cap situation filling our roster with ps guys and journeymen. It's time to rebuild from scratch. Let the youth movement began.

Romo due for his annual late season swan dive again? 104 yards passing? Amazing.

If Jerry was a smart football man (in which he isn't), he would own up to all those horrendous contract extensions and restructures, and put this team out of it's misery now instead of when all the wheels finally do come off from all those old has-beens being regurgitated every season from yesteryear....what a sham. He can start by trading that overrated imitation QB street-baller named Tony "Oh No" Romo to move up in the draft next year for a real QB (in a pretty good QB draft class). Then draft all defense after that.

You ice-cream and lollypop dreamers can go back to sleep in your fantasy-land now.
This team is done. Even if they make the playoffs, this defense will get lit up again and it's back to square one.

I didn't read your post until after posting my own thoughts. Funny thing is we basically share the same Main Idea. :agree: 100%. Supporting and sharing an opinion with you lol is dangerous on these boards, I usually don't like your post but in this case I couldn't agree more.

I wish we were more like Greenbay and owned by the people and not by a dictator in Jerry Jones. I know that sounds a bit extreme to liken him to a dictator, but that's what he basically is. Jerry's that dude you play basketball with and when the calls don't go his way he takes the ball and goes home. :whip:

Not just at you .....

but alot of dumb ideas in this thread about get rid of this one and that one

Impossible to cut or trade because they would put us over the cap ... and yes I mean IMPOSSIBLE
Romo
Witten
Ware
Lee
Carr

So leave them off any list you make .... It's not even possible to release them or trade them

as far as Dez goes .... still a half a year player. Has yet to put together 16 games.

Hasnt had a 100 yard game since week 7

I'd be 100% for trading him if he can turn into our Roy Williams (opposite side of the trade)

Yeah thats why I said I know Zero about the cap. Point taken. I think most who make comments like my don't necessarily mean it in the literal since. We are more so expressing a Now apathetic feeling about the team, the roster, the owner. I can only speak for my self. I'm sick of supporting a looser. I love these Cowboys....and right now I hate that I lovem. Wish I was a wishy washy fan and could move on lol. I'm just ready for a new start. Hoping for the best, but I don't expect it anymore. Thanks for clearing that up though.

I partially agree with you here.....it's like I said Dez can't throw himself the ball. Don't give me the oh well he's not open, Romo has made a living forcing balls to an un-open Witten. He needs to trust Dez more. Iv'e seen many time where Dez was open but Romo choose not to pull the trigger for whatever reason. His deep accuracy stinks.

Let's see what the rest of the season holds. We aren't doing anything right now, and last night was a crap game but we still control our destiny. Win, and in.

Unless Romo is the defensive coordinator or defensive player, this loss wasn't on him. Did you even watch the game? Chicago NEVER punted. Not once. Nice analysis, though.

but the thing is Dez is almost NEVER open. He still isnt even what I would consider a good route runner.
He doesn't have break away speed.
And he drops as many as TO .... Especially wide open passes. The only thing he seems to excel in is jump balls. Good in the Red Zone not so much anywhere else on the field.

I've said before we over value our players..... and Dez is the classic example of that.

He just isnt that good. It's middle of the pack with alot of potential.

Sometimes it is what it is

Personally I don't want to overpay "potential" yet AGAIN
And everyone on here talking about blowing this team up ..... want trade value .... He gives you the most

Don't believe him. He's a notorious Romo fudge packer. It is possible to trade Romo but they would take an enormous cap hit for it. Who cares though if you're team is still 3-4 years away from building a good defense that can seriously contend in the playoffs?? This team built as is will never compete with the elite teams with Overrated aging players and bloated contracts lol. Jerry and Co. just keep on delaying and putting off the inevitable by placing band aids on this team every season instead of preparing for the future and taking those deep hits when you can get young players and beginning the rebuilding process. It's always a Sn year with uncle Jerry and you dreamers every pre season...it's been time to wake up out of this Romo dream.

Horrible drafting is a major reason for the problems. Wasting high picks on backup tight ends has hurt this team. Mid 2nd round picks should be starters. Aging players like ware get injured more. It is time to talk draft.

I think Dez gets open as much as any other wr in relative terms. Open is not by your self on an island but instead 1 or 2 steps of separation. It's Like I said Iv'e seen Romo throw the ball to a doubled and even tripled covered Witten. This is one of those issues we will agree to disagree about. I do however agree he drops/fumbles way to many balls and still needs to grow as a route runner. My bottom line though is he's an elite talent and you have to get him the ball. He doesn't have Desean Jackson speed, but he can no doubt get behind the defense or turn on a dime and take it 70 yards. Some of this is on Romo. How many times last night did we see Mcnown who is a lesser qb then Romo squeeze balls in to Jeffery and Marshall last night in small windows. Dez needs targets to make plays. 6 targets a game is not what your franchise wr should get, and you then turn around and say he's not getting it down.

How anyone here can say with a straight face that this defense will get better with these aging overrated players heading towards the down side of their careers moving forward from here (as the worst defense in football right now), is beyond comprehension.

It's time to blow up this team and start over, but I'm pretty sure that every poster here already knows what Jerry will do. Blame the coaching staff, and never himself, draft another OLmen and DLmen, prop up Romo as the greatest QB in NFL history and give him another weapon to make another fantasy SB run with next year as Romo ages even more and slows from injuries, just to keep the charade going that he never makes mistakes when handing out all those ridiculous contract extensions. This is Dallas Cowboys will into the future until Jerry retires in afraid.

you're ignorant .... football wise anyway ....

It IS IMPOSSIBLE to cut Romo. Unless you want a cap fine like the Redskins took for cutting Haynesworth.

Romo's hit alone would be more than what is allowed in the dead money of the salary cap. Not to mention the dead money we are already carrying over into next season..

IMPOSSIBLE to cut any of the guys I listed.

It's already been explained ..... Just scroll down til you find the salary cap post..

I'm not writing all that shit again

Basically we are all talking heads making post so there isn't one way of thinking is more valid then they other. One thing is clear to me is that we are all passionate about this team. I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Jerry fits the definition of insanity to a (T). We all know the saying no need to expound.
