Could Stanford be #3 in the BCS Sunday?

They were already ahead of Baylor in the BCS. While Baylor made a big statement, and could certainly argue jumping over Ohio State, will they actually even be ahead of 1-loss Stanford?

It will be the most interesting BCS standings to come out yet.

While nothing was as satisfying as seeing the Cardinal whoop some duck ass, I think Baylor was VERY impressive, on both sides of the ball. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them at #3 after Bama and FSU.

Obviously we don't know how the voters will react. Ohio St will still be ahead of them in the computers. But Baylor should drastically improve in the computers. They were 10th coming into the week. I could see them get into the top 5 in the computers. More interesting to me is what happens to Stanford and Ohio St. Will Stanford get to #3 in the polls?

Bama could lose and FSU could lose. It is possible for Ohio ST to be #1 and Stanford #2 by Monday.

i think 3-4-5 could be in any order. not sure how the humans will react. i assume they will have ohio state at 3, but maybe not by much over baylor and stanford. also, baylor will gain significantly in the computer rankings, something that ohio state won't (and stanford probably won't gain a whole lot either here, but that's because they just don't have as many spots to climb up as baylor did).

Man Stanford's schedule this year is just brutal. ASU, Washington, Utah, UCLA, Oregon St, Oregon, USC, ND and the Pac 12 CG. Can you blame them for losing a game?

Who would that be? NW was 16 when you played them this year and Wisconsin was #23 when you played them. That is this year. Last year no team on OSU's schedule was ever in the top 15 at anytime during the year.

Ohio State fans need to hope MSU can keep winning. If they win out, they will easily be a top 15 - possibly even top 10 - heading into the conference game.

IMO, the only way Ohio State moves down is by losing. The polls don';t place enough weight on the teams SOS. It's not Ohio State's fault the rest of the Big10 is weak and these things run in cycles so it's difficult to schedule an SOS that places some credibility on their program. Probably a good thing if Ohio State goes to the Rose Bowl; they won't have to play Oregon so there is a chance of a Bowl win. Playing FSU or Alabama will be another NC blowout.

Not sure the human polls will have OSU @ 3. The B1G overall this year isn't that good. Even worse than the Big 12 and maybe the ACC. That perception will hurt OSU. Baylors win over the Sooners to me looks better than Stafords win over Oregon simply because of Stanfords loss. And Utah could realistically lose three out of its last four games. So I'd go:

The Big 12 is just awful this year. The top 3 Big Ten teams run through the Big 12 like a hot knife through butter. Oklahoma being ranked at all is the biggest joke in the polls this season. They have no offense whatsoever and they can't tackle worth a shit. Baylor is much like Oregon and can't stop a real power run game. I believe weak Texas team takes them down later this season. What can I say about the ACC, except same old..
