Was hoping for a serious response.

well i made a serious post about the topic at hand and you started resorting to this bullshit. if you want a serious response from me you gotta be serious first. otherwise take this BS to a new thread title "alabama is not a redneck fanbase" or something along those lines.

cuz you guys sure seem fond of chasing me around with this butthurt bullshit

^^^^those are bandwagon fans

You know how many students from out of state go to that University. Alabama got its start and growth spurts by advertising in the New York times back in the early 1900's and today they still get a great many students from that region. But they're bandwagon fans, nice deflection

Not possible that they are from Alabama, attended Alabama, or have family that attend/attended Alabama?

He fails to mention that he is a bandwagon fan of atleast two schools himself, if not three.

Yeah, I haven't dealt with him outside of this thread, quickly finding out that he's an idiot.

the difference between michigan & alabama is that michigan's fanbase is actually attached to the school beyond football. thats why we still have one of the largest fanbases even in 3-9 seasons.

alabama however only has a fanbase of similar size in years where they are top 5 in the AP. just goes to show that you guys have bandwagon fans who have no relationship to the school other than the football team.

now i have seen it many times on forums where sec fans brag about how the north doesnt care as much about football. thats a fair statement & thats an accurate statement and you love throwing that in our face. however if you are gonna throw that in our face all the time dont get pissy when a northern pulls this BS with you about having fanbase that treats your school like a pro football team.

-lemme guess you wont read this cuz its too many words <== figures

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: dude, you really need to stop while you can even post and not be ridiculed at every turn.

Alabama is one of the most storied programs in the HISTORY of the NCAA Football. They are top 10 all time in most categories and number one in a couple. Their fan base is tied to the school in more than just football though. Tell me, have you ever seen nearly an entire state standing on a 60 mile stretch of road, both sides, crying? i have and it was at the passing of one of the greatest coaches to ever step on the sidelines.
Besides football the students are tied to the University in their own ways too. I know I was tied to it before i even attended by family and friends, by the academic courses that I wanted to one day undertake. The school itself is a very amazing place and is nestled in a small country town, which is what i wanted for myself when i went there, not a big city atmosphere. You cannot hope to understand the depths of reasons that people are tied to that school other than one of the top football programs of all times.

You keep on thinking that Michigan is the shit(lately they have looked like it), but dont even for one second think that Michigan has anything better on Alabama when it comes to fanbases, its all relative.

My comment on Aggie/Texas right now is they are both in Texas. One has history over the other, the other would destroy the one with history over them right now. Texas is on its way down for a bit, until they get the right coach and Sumlin seems to have the Aggies on the right track(with JF at the helm).

As for one being jealous or paranoid, i dont see it right now. this thing with Mack has been coming for a couple of years, so its not due to A&m that he is suddenly on the hot seat. Thats my aggies/Texas talk.

Imagine that Alabama fans not tied to the school except during winning years. I didnt miss a game for 20 years that Bama was under the NCAA thumb or not at the top due to bad coaching staffs. I was faithful all along and was still tied to the school from my family and my accomplishments in classes there. I was tied to it by people I got enrolled there by telling them about my education and how much i loved it there. i have 9 graduates to my credit who went due to me, but i and the other fans are only tied to it by the football team and only when winning.

Can you believe this guy?

He's an obvious idiot. I couldn't believe he was serious but he just kept on and on. He's not worth arguing with. I'll gloss over any of his future posts. :suds:

doesnt matter how storied they are....

medium sized school, bad academics, medium sized state. is it really that hard to understand? bash those things all they want but they actually do count for something.

The most loved, hated college football team is ...

^^^^
yes i know its just one link & you can probably find a link of your own that using a different ranking system that says alabama is number 1. however look at the 5 schools that top the list in my link. those 5 schools NEVER have their fanbase size questions. in good seasons or bad seasons (4 of those teams have had bad stretches this decade) no one ever challenges the size of those fanbases. they are large even in the bad years. whereas with alabama, they get a HUGE increase in fanbase size only when they are good.
