DD held the puck to long had it poked away a scramble in front of the net B Richards bounced it in off of DD who ended up in the net....

Or

Quick shouldn't play after a back to back

Wow...I don't think I have ever seen a goal scored like that off a goalie.

And stupid Kings fans should STFU with the jeers, he isn't the reason the Kings are losing. Morons.

Fuck these Staples fans for real. After LA won the cup I really felt like it was a lifetime of waiting and rooting only to see all of these shitheads take over the arena right when it mattered most. Was watching the Dodgers and flipped over to see LA go from 2-1 to 3-1 (I missed the goal but had watched most of the game) and when Quick made his next save the "fans" sarcastically cheered him making the save. I don't get it. This dude won LA a cup and won the Conn Smythe and they have the balls to jeer him in the home opener in a 3-1 game. I respect all of you who post and read and you know who you are as the real Kings fans. I wish it was all of you always in the arena and not these clowns. Ox, you are the exception, but that really bothers me the way they booed Quick tonight. On that note, the Dodgers are doing some work right now and might be moving on.

That was pretty pathetic when Quick made the save from the whole ice, and the fans cheered. Quick seemed to wave, like he said "yeah, yeah" -

The team needs to wake the hell up and stop thinking they can turn it on whenever they want.

Well we dont have to worry about the Kings being able to put the puck in the net. Doughty, Voynov and Quick all put one in. Now just need to point them the other way

Heavy sigh

Thats what I was thinking. Rangers played well but if it wasnt for a lot of luck they would have lost 1-0 Richards 1st goal was the only one that maybe should have went in and it still deflected off your Dman who though it would be a good idea to jump into the net.

I know its frustrating to see the Kings struggle and lose games like they have the past 2 games. As a fan of theirs the past 30+ years I of course want them to win every game they play. I STILL get emotional watching highlights & videos of the Stanley Cup run a couple of years ago.

So, I have to keep reminding myself that its ONLY the 3rd game of the season, and that some of the best teams struggle out of the gate (the 2011-12 Kings included). Not every team is the '84 Tigers, or the Hawks of last year. Although, it would be an amazing change to see the Kings put a season like that together where the just rolled over everyone & made the rest of the league look bad in the process.

So, they just need to get their timing together and they'll be fine - no need to panic yet.

Too early in the season for any team to fire the coach. Philly.
Quick will be better next game. I just hope he doesnt take the fans booing too hard.
Brown and Mitchell are still not up to speed. Muzzin is making rookie mistakes still. Kopitar is frgetting to shoot and is trying to pass when the lane is not there. So the Kings are in 6th in the Pacific? Cant havea good story without some drama

Yeah, starting to lose patience with Muzzin, I think Puck put it best by referencing Muzzin as "Modry Pt II". Even though Lombardi has assembled a great team, besides Doughty & Voynov, they really haven't developed any other Dmen. I think its time to give Martinez more of a chance, I mean they won the cup with him in the lineup. Even though Regher is a quality lockerroom guy, not sure he's a good fit with this team. His reactions tend to be a step slower than the rest of the team.

Muzzin is terrible, although I didn't notice any glaring mistakes last night. Nice shot, he put that thing pretty much exactly where he could to beat Lundqvist.

And speaking of, he wasn't really tested last night. I saw no screens, no traffic, nothing. Total perimeter hockey and this team is too big and skilled to play like that. I'm just going to chalk it up to an off game - the Rangers played decent, but it took 3 fluke goals to beat the Kings. The Kings simply looked off to me, which happens no matter who good you are. Sometimes you just wake up and the day doesn't feel right.

And I agree, the Kings' defense is mainly acquisitions and free agents, but it works overall. There are guys like Forbert who are getting developed in the minors though and I think there will be some turnover in the roster in the next 2-3 years. We will see exactly what has been developed at that time, when guys like Mitchell and Regehr are gone and spots open up.

I think its time to give Martinez more of a chance, I mean they won the cup with him in the lineup. Even though Regher is a quality lockerroom guy, not sure he's a good fit with this team. His reactions tend to be a step slower than the rest of the team.

Martinez gets shat on constantly on this board, but I think he is hands down better than Muzzin and not worthy of being a scratch as often as he is. Dude is a way better option than Muzzin.

The infatuation with Muzzin, along with his retarded game and marshmallow play, is interesting to me. Reminds me a lot of why Terry W. Murray would play Zeiler or when Modry got as much time as he did under Murray.

Regehr looks like he'sin slow motion all the time, but I think that is why he doesn't look like he fits in. He does a decent job IMO but has concrete for skates.

Lastly, I didn't see Brown hit anyone like he normally does last night. Don't know if his groin isn't 100% yet but this actually goes back to last season; he seems to have stopped hitting.

Brown defintely needs to start knocking people over and creating space. Ever since he spent time in the Swiss during the lockout he plays less physical it seems. Don't know if playing in Europe has anything to do it but he just doesn't seem to be the same player he was in the 2012 playoffs.
Muzzin is too much of a pushover to be commanding the comments that he gets from the Kings media. At least Sutter dropped some hints postgame about sitting him. Sure he has a canon of a shot, but he needs to be stronger on the puck and maintaining possession or taking possession away from the opponent more consistently for my book. The "turnover" he had against Steen (I think) during game 5 vs St Louis in the playoffs last season will be forever (justifiably or not) seered in my mind.
Sure the Kings are developing Forbort but it will be interesting to see how he plays in Manchester this season. There is also a lot of hype about Kevin Gravel (4th/5th round pick of same year as Forbort) supposedly playing similarly to Scuderi. But I see these guys not being regular contributors for 2 or 3 more years. What I'm "concerned" with is that I don't see another Greene (who if I'm not mistaken in an UFA at the end of this season) or a Mitchell, or any other physical stay at home dman in the pipeline right now. But I guess you can find those types of players on the market reasonably. I think they should try and pick one in the 2nd or 3rd round this next draft for grooming.

I wouldn't mind trying to get Muzzin a few more goals and trying to get something for him. Martinez is usually marginal at best and makes his fair share of mistakes as well so its a coin flip for me....

Maybe I just see something different but Martinez is a ton better in his own end. That's the biggest difference between Muffin and Martinez. Both can skate, both can pass and both can shoot but Martinez is the lesser liability and a hell of a lot more physical.

Muffin is a giant pussy. That's why he gets the NA J-Blow moniker from me. That's also why St. Louis made him their bitch that entire playoff series a few months ago.

Scouting isn't a lost art.
