I wish we could schedule 2 FCS or 1 FCS and a cupcake team before we had to play someone ranked it would probably lead to less sloppy football and less errors.

Coach Graham is our coach one of the most discipline coaches in college football, you wont see those errors next week.

The ball is in his right hand.

Even if what everyone says is true, the clock wouldn't have stopped. Why didn't he spike it? If he did kneel, what was the purpose of the play? Take a snap and give up on the play? Makes no sense. Why not just kick a field goal with the time remaining?

I just laugh when people say things like that. Coach won't allow it. What's he going to do, fire the players, run out on the field and start yelling "I won't allow that?"

The ball was lined up on the right hash. He took the snap and went over to center the ball. The next play was going to be to line up and spike the ball with 3-5 seconds left. This way, the kick was dead on and it left ASU with little to no time. This is just how they are supposed to do it.

With 17 seconds left, this is stupid. All the QB had to do was to run towards the center of the field and go down. I've watched the video enough times to tell you I didn't see him touch his knee to the ground and don't think the refs did either. Since this is not something that the booth normally reviews, Wisconsin got what they deserved.

Not his fault the refs weren't paying attention. He took a knee, something QBs do hundreds of times a year across football, and you don't see refs screw up like this. His job is to guide his team to FG range and set the kicker up, and the officials' job is to pay attention and not monumentally screw up like they did.

No reason not to use the clock. If you can make the kick easier, it only makes sense. It happens constantly in football, so I'm not sure why you think it's so odd.

My point was smart says the kick was guaranteed. I said the coach didn't feel that way from four years further. If he felt it was guaranteed he would've run the clock out and kicked it without running extra plays and risking the clock running out...

I could tell that he touched his knee plain as day. It also doesn't matter if he touched it or not....he made the motion of kneeling and that is just as good as fully kneeling (which he did and is even more apparent in that picture). The source of the argument is no longer in whether or not his knee touched the ground.

Neither of these statements make any sense.

The refs screwed over both teams. Your receiver clearly stepped out of bounds on that last drive and that fake punt was completely illegal. There were two forward passes and you had an ineligible man downfield (it was a really cool and creative play though). It was unfortunate how the game ended but you lost get over it. You're still undefeated in B1G play and have the rest of the season to bounce back.

There were no ineligible men downfield, I looked specifically for that because I thought there was. The two forward passes is an interesting thought, I'd have to see a replay again.

Meh, we'll have to agree to disagree. On the simplest, most fundamental level, this was entirely the officiating crew's fault. He clearly went down to a knee and sat the ball down. Not only did the officials fail to properly call him down, but they then allowed the clock to run off without properly restoring order with an officials' timeout as they should have. When you have a QB furiously yelling at you, 3 defensive players laying on the ball and the rest of the offense then trying to line up to run a play and you aren't able to restore order efficiently, you call an official's timeout.

The more I've watched the replay the more fault I think should be given the Wisconsin's offense (more specifically quarterback) and the less I feel it's on the refs. Yes, the officials did a horrible job of handling the situation, but the Wisconsin players did an even worse job of realizing what was going on.

The quarterback kneels and sets the ball down, which I all hope we can agree was stupid, then proceeds to argue with the referee even after the referee signaled that he was indeed down. Then the whole offense is just standing there until they finally realize what's going on with 4 seconds left, and they finally try to hurry up to spike the ball.

Wisconsin showed no sense of urgency. I was on this thread throughout the end of the 4th quarter and Wisconsin's fans repeatedly commented on the lack of urgency, which I guess was no big deal until there was 10 seconds left, then it's the officials fault. If they all got to the line and got set like they should have, I think it's fair to assume the umpire would have had the ball placed a little quicker. Seriously, watch it again, they were just standing around while the clock ticked down. The quarterback didn't start "furiously yelling" until there were 3 seconds left, he seemed unaware of the situation until that point.

Watch the video for yourself. Even the announcer is yelling about how the official doesn't spot the ball, and you can see the official putting his hand up, holding up play, until the clock says :00. You can also clearly see that immediately after Stave gets back up from on one knee, the offensive line is up and ready to snap the ball again with :12 left, which is when all of the ASU players begin jumping on the ball. The officials clearly whistled the play dead, but did nothing at all when the ASU players were laying on the ball, and continued letting the clock run off while not allowing Wisconsin to snap the ball, ensuring they would not have a chance to get a kick attempt in. Also, if you notice, an official was standing just to the left of the screen. Given the screenshot that has shown how clearly Stave had his knee down, there's no excuse for this official not being able to see this, so there goes that excuse.

How are you still arguing about this? How it went down was shitty. It wasn't malicious. It was awkward and confusing, and the umpire moved too slowly, though he had the ball in his hands with about 6 seconds to go. The umpire was confused and didn't seem to get that the clock was ticking given his complete lack of urgency.

Why? Because it was a weird play, and only like 3 guys knew what the fuck at had happened.
