I've decided that the fans in Arlington need to start booing the shit out of Wash any time he's seen on the field. He's dragging this team down and even though he probably wouldn't give a crap at least the fans would be making themselves heard and maybe, just maybe the FO would hear as well that the fans are discontented with Wash's awful management.

romeo, i understand your feelings but most Rangers fans are not as nitpicky as you are. they look at a team that is, if they hold this game today, 79-54 and are already looking forward to the playoffs for the 3rd year in a row and are happy with what is being done on the field. what you are suggesting is what is expected of teams like Cleveland or Kansas City not a team that is leading the American League,

I'll continue to say this team wins in spite of Ron Washington. He can get away with this in the regular season, but not in October where we've already seen him be grossly outclassed in back to back WS.

and if it happens again you might see Wash get replaced but i've seen nothing from Daniels or Ryan that indicates that they feel the way you do so any demonstration by a minority of fans is not going to impress them to do anything now.

None of us really know how JD and Nolan feel. They're smart and they're not going to cause a shit storm headed down the stretch that could possibly affect the team. I could see them stepping in come playoff time cause there's no margin for error there, but I doubt you'd actually hear about it even then. They'll keep their cards close to their chests.

So how good are the A's? I don't know much about this team other than they keep winning games.

They keep winning with a bunch of guys hitting .260 and below somehow. They're definitely playing up over their heads, but they were playing cellar dwellers aside from Tampa bay. Their schedule is about to get lots tougher.

They got good pitching though and they're slowly creeping(or will probably get WC spot). Should we be worried?

Their pitching isn't what's surprising me. It's the fact they've continuously put up 5+ runs a game. They're definitely a team to keep an eye on, but they're about to face Detroit and NY on the road and have a series where they and LAA just beat up on each other. Our last series of the season is against them so our fate should at the very least be in our own hands.

Ref OAK ... TEX just needs to win the game they play every day and not worry about OAK. They are 3 games up on NYY after they lost to BAL ... and will likely be 3 up on OAK too if they finish off BOS leading now early.

If you pay attention to who is chasing you ... and not the team you are playing tonight ... then you are sure to fall into a hole.

Important to keep in mind the team trailing is the one under pressure. Not the one with the lead.

In regards to TEX, OAK, and LAA down the stretch:

TEX- 29 games remaining, 16 against playoff contenders

OAK- 29 games remaining, 23 against playoff contenders

LAA- 28 games remaining, 19 against playoff contenders

A's are 3 back but have 7 tougher games than the Rangers do. Angels are 9 back in the loss column and have 3 tougher games than the Rangers do.

Anything can happen for sure, but as long as the Rangers win the majority of their games against KC, CLE, and SEA, and then play around .500 against the rest, the division title should be theirs.

My dream scenario is for Baltimore to rise up and take the East, Detroit to win the Central (Chicago scares me more), Rangers to win the West and overall #1 seed, and Oakland to win the Wild Card matchup against Tampa Bay. Rangers knock out the A's who fall back to Earth, and then top the Orioles in the ALCS.

Yankees could actually miss the playoffs. Missing Granderson, Teixeira, A-Rod and their lack of pitching depth could bite them down the stretch. Maybe not likely, but one can hope.

Will ... very likely scenario.

Could easily see TBR and BAL pushing NYY out of the post season.

CHW and DET are less encumbered with a third division team biting at them ... so potentially both of them could get in.

OAK and LAA have 7 games against each other and I could see them doing enough damage to each other that neither make it.

Another interesting scenario would be if there is one clear WC1 winner ... but two or more teams with the same record as WC2. There has to be a 1 game played to decide who is WC2 ... before WC1 and WC2 face off for the play in ... before the WC winner gets to host #1 in ALDS game 1. And this all has to happen in 3 days.

With five teams in the two-team WC hunt ... the odds that there is one clear WC1 is good but actually better that there are multiple WC2 claimants.

On another note... Anybody ever check out bbtia? Was over there reading and there seems to be an inexplicable amount of hate for Kinsler over there from some posters. Like MY type of hate. I don't get it. His average is down, but he still gets on base, hits for plenty of power and is probably the second or third best second baseman in baseball. Especially considering his defensive abilities. Seeing him and Elvis turn a double play is one of the most beautiful things in baseball.
