From the Athletic their mock draft done last week.

7. Philadelphia Flyers (Pick by Wheeler): Dalibor Dvorsky, C, AIK

The Flyers targeted a potential center when they drafted Cutter Gauthier at No. 5 last year. Daniel Briere doubles down down the middle with his first selection, drafting another potential center in Dvorsky. They may not both play C at the NHL level, but they offer a good foundation of skill, pro size and roundedness.

I just have this sinking feeling that Michkov will fall, we'll draft him, then he'll mysteriously disappear in Russia and never come over.

I hope he doesn't do this, I'd like to see them take the highest ranked DMan available, I think there is a lot of forward talent in free agency this off season, hopefully Briere can do both by shedding some contracts, fingers crossed he can get rid of Ellis to the yotes so they can meet their cap limit.

You think? I would be pretty shocked if the Flyers of all teams took the risk of adding Michkov. They don't have a lot of Russians on the squad, and haven't historically. The one they do have is a psuedo-Russian that moved to NA at 13 (Provorov) and they're probably heading for a split anyway. They just got burned by the Fedotov deal. Plus if there was an NHL team that the Russians would spite it'd be the Flyers since they embarassed the Red Army team (CSKA) in '76. Michkov plays for the other Red Army Team now (SKA). Plus I don't really see the fan-base embracing a Russian-led rebuild. Especially not the ones that grew up with the Bullies.

Just doesn't look like a fit to me. I think a lot of people (me included) are more concerned that Briere/Jones won't depart enough from the typical Flyer-way. Drafting Michkov would be about as big a departure as I can think of.

I'm with you on defense if Reinbacher is there. But it seems like more and more mock drafters expect Bedard, Fantili, Carlsson, Smith, and Reinbacher to all go before #7 which would be pretty lame.

I expect the Flyers to take Leonard.

FWIW, 97.5 talked to Jones and he implied that Clarke/Holmgren/etc. have no say in moves that the organization makes.
Hopefully, those days are over.

Quite a few front office changes. Mostly internal promotions, but Kjell Samuelson, Mike O’Connel, John Riley all relieved of their duties.

Different is good.

The latest mock draft from the Athletic:

7. Philadelphia: Nate Danielson, C, Brandon (WHL)

Philly’s management group could go in various directions. This could be yet another Michkov landing spot, but I think Danielson is going to go higher than some expect. It’s not universal in the league but he has a lot of big fans because of his toolkit and all-around play. Dvorsky is also very possible here for Philly.

The latest mock from the Athletic:

5. Montreal: David Reinbacher, D, Kloten (SWISS)

This is a decision point in the draft. It could be Michkov, I could see Ryan Leonard here too, but more and more when talking to people around the league the sense I get is to keep pushing Reinbacher up the projections. I think he has a strong chance to go in the top five. He’s a premium defense prospect and those are highly coveted.

I can get on board with that, anything that helps solidifies the backend.

Jesus, what has happened to the Florida Panthers over the last week or two!?!

Suddenly they look like a bunch of monkeys trying to fuck a football out there...:pound:

It's as if they have completely forgotten how to play Nhl defense.

Other than his size, I have been reading real good things about Zach Benson. Should be available at 7.

Are the Knights this good or are the Panther's shitting the bed? One thing for sure, there is incredible speed on the Knights.

From the Athletics latest mock draft:

17. Detroit (via NY Islanders): Zach Benson, LW, Winnipeg (WHL)

Trying to figure out Benson’s landing spot is a bit of a difficult task. At No. 17 he would make for an excellent second first-round pick for Detroit, with a gamble on his high-end skill, IQ and motor. I’m guessing he goes closer to No. 15 than No. 10, where I think most projections have him now. I also think Detroit will look hard at Colby Barlow here or Simashev if he got to No. 17.

Its crazy that Vegas is 2 games away from a cup in like 7 years in the league and we haven't won one in the last 50 years.

Not surprised at all, but what exactly did we get in return?

Provorov can probably be a solid defenseman in the right situation, but he definitely appeared to have burnt his bridges in Philly. It was affecting his performance and there was no coming back from it. He had to be moved, in my opinion. I stated that at some point during the season.

Edit: Looks like we're getting prospect Helge Grans (a 6'3" 206 lb 21 year old RHD from Sweden) and a 2nd round pick in this deal.
