Dane Dunning ?
You got it. When they were introducing the players at the Frisco stop of the Rangers Winter Caravan they mentioned that. I am thinking Martin Perez eclipses him soon.

Levi Weaver's article today goes over the non roster invitees to training camp.

RHP Zack Littell (27)
MLB career: 145 games, 169 2/3 innings, 151 strikeouts, 60 walks, 4.08 ERA

"If Littell’s career pattern is any indication, he’s on pace for a good 2023. Check out these year-by-year ERA marks:"

2018 (MIN): 6.20
2019 (MIN): 2.68
2020 (MIN): 9.95
2021 (SFG): 2.92
2022 (SFG): 5.08

"Littell’s tenure in San Francisco didn’t end on great terms — his final game of the season ended with the reliever barking at his manager Gabe Kapler after being removed from the game. But there’s clearly some talent in the arm, and the Rangers could use the bullpen boost, especially if they’re unable to bring Matt Moore back."

Another NRI from Weaver's article:

RHP Kyle Funkhouser (28)
MLB career: 70 games, 85 2/3 innings, 74 strikeouts, 49 walks, 4.20 ERA

"The last time Funkhouser was in the big leagues was the end of the 2021 season, his second year in the bigs with the team that drafted him in the fourth round in 2016. He had a successful year, posting a 3.42 ERA in 57 games. But he injured his shoulder last March during the lockout, ultimately requiring surgery that cost him the entire 2022 season. As recently as November, he still wasn’t throwing, so if he cracks the team, it probably won’t be until the second half."

This is from a Bleacher Report article about the players who will be most affected by the shift ban. They name 8 players and 5 are hitters. I tried posting a link, but for some reason the link will not show. I have had that problem with Bleacher Report articles before, I believe.

Three of the five hitters they mention are Gallo, Semien and Seager.

Re: Gallo

"I get the defensive strategies, I do. I'm 100 percent not against that. But I think at some point, you have to fix the game a little bit. I mean, I don't understand how I'm supposed to hit a double or triple when I have six guys standing in the outfield."

He was exaggerating, but only sort of. What qualifies as a six-man outfield is disputable—does an infielder become an outfielder simply by standing on the grass?—but it's a fact that Gallo has seen 545 four-man outfields since 2017. Or, more than twice as many as anyone else

Duran to the Brewers?

Lol. Yeah, that is why the Rangers are having him learn to play the OF.

Duran is not THE odd man out. Duran, Smith, Acosta, Acuna, Ornelas and Saggese are all odd men out in that sense. Some will move to another position and others will move on to other teams. So far two of them have played several games in the OF and another one has played one or two in the OF. Others haven't played the OF yet.
