If this was a money league. And I was the commish I would do a league wide vote. So the whole league helps in making the decision. This is too big of a decision for a commish to make with money on the line.

But this is a free league I’d be ok if the league wants to vote. Don’t think we need to. I guess the commish can make any decision and we would be ok with it. As long as it is reasonable

Yeah, Milk I don’t think that is relevant.

Money or no money.

We all care a great deal about these leagues.

Nobody treats this as a casual free league.

Just because there is no money on the line, that doesn’t mean we should treat this decision as any less important.

Well, as commish in other leagues, i think its only fair to tally what has been scored regardless of the reasons.

If there is an option 5 where the NFL resumes the BUF-CIN game, then those points would be appended. Otherwise the scores are as-is.

Im ok with that decision... but i do definitely disagree with it... what is weird is if it wasnt the monday night game, most league commissioners would have allowed the team to replace that player... or at least i would assume that, since the owners would have complained for action...

maybe i should just ask you commissioners around here... if this happened on the thursday night or sunday 1:00 game, would the action be the same?? or would you allow a replacement??

the problem with that hypothetical situation is, that if it were a Thursday night game, it'd likely have been rescheduled for Sunday slot or a MNF double header.

If we are to assume the situation is exactly the same though, and Friday morning Goodell says it will not be rescheduled that week, I would come to the same conclusion. In my mind, this is no different than any player getting hurt in the first quarter and missing out on the entire game. It is what is, life ain't fair, suck it up and move on.
Fantasy is based on stats, remove the emotion and the ethics and boil it down to the only thing that matter in the fantasy world..it isn't about fairness, it's about the numbers and the numbers say that is what happened that given week for any given player, whether its a zero, 1, or 50

i know it is not a perfect hypothetical... its just interesting because there would have been time for options....

Reading on here and the other Fantasy threads, I am going with option 1. @molsaniceman is declared the champion*, unless the NFL replays the game at a later date. Then we will add those points to the score.

1 other thing about this season regardless of what happens here, I want to send out congrats to Molsan for the season he had taking over for Shady basically on the first day of the season.

@HaroldSeattle did you notice the asterisk?

Since the NFL issued a statement that the BUF-CIN is a no contest, i guess that makes it all official.

Congrats @molsaniceman
And congrats to @HaroldSeattle
You guys are the epitome of class.

Just wonder how many leagues will adopt a best ball format for the league championship game going forward in the event something else unprecidented happens in the future?

Not being facetious here. What exactly is best ball and are we doing a league in MBBRL that I've missed?

It's basically...draft a roster, maintain the roster, but never worry about setting a lineup. You get the points from your best QB of the week, your best 2 RB's, you best TE, best flex.

There's zero strategy in setting lineups and playing matchups, outside of drops and adds.

Chickenscratch IMHO

I hope none.

That would be a severe overreaction to a highly unlikely event.

Bestball takes important decision making out of the biggest game of the season.

love best ball, but that's a separate format

can't have a season long of decision making get thrown out the door for the most important game of the year and just give both teams their best possible score.

everyone faces the same hurdles and roadblocks, navigate them how you see fit and hope it ends up being good enough to win

i doubt any... but i realy question if this happened in a game earlier in the week where there were still games left, if many commissioners would let teams manage this situation differently...

Just to be clear i am not suggesting a best ball title game.

But a guy at work who is in a money league was notified by his commish that based on the NFL's "no contest" ruling, any points from the Buf-Cin game no longer count. Which, for him, means he does nit finish in 3rd place (which was a couple hundred dollars).

honestly, i would not be totally opposed to using a TEAM QB... huge difference between expected points and actual points...

the biggest problem with fantasy football is that one player really can and does win it for many owners...
