The Chiefs are...

Leading the league in net yards per play

5-2 against playoff teams

Probably going to finish with 14 wins.

Will very likely have the runaway MVP.

Losing to the Raiders is pretty dang unlikely to happen with Stidham.

The same Stidham that had the Niners on the ropes this weekend? Surprised me too, but after the Chiefs struggled with the bottom of the barrel Texans and Broncos the past two weeks, nothing would shock me.

Bro, it's Stidham. He's more likely Matt Flynn than some secretly good QB. Defenses are notoriously fragile- it's why contenders aren't built that way typically anymore.

Just as likely a 42-16 Chiefs snoozer than a Raiders win.

Agreed, though the last line of your post seems to be the outcome most folks want...

The Chiefs really don’t have a defense that allows them to run and hide from opponents.

Meh, I'm not overly worried. The Chiefs know what's at stake, though I get the "any given Sunday" thing...

I would generally agree. Their defense, while better than last year, is still profoundly mediocre, especially when compared to other contenders. They're also *still* leading in net yards per play despite said mediocre defense. They're always as good threat to blow a team out as any team in the league. Their offense can outrun basically anyone. Or at least Mahomes.

Doubting Stidham makes more sense than trusting a N=1.

It's a bit more than just that, given their recent weeks (and the first game vs the Raiders). Still, Chiefs should win.

I’m 95% the Chiefs win. I’m also 70% the game is within one score.

I believe the Chiefs rank in the top 5 against the run. Go for it...
That’s not because they’re good at stopping the run. It’s because most teams see a better matchup vs the secondary or are chasing the game. They give up 4.4 per rush which is middle of the road among NFL defenses. Also, rush yards per game they’re number 9 not number 5.

Would agree with this. They are just very average all around. 17h in EPA/dropback allowed. 18th against the run. 15th overall. Will take that over last year , but it's still a major problem and borderline liability against contenders.

Considering the rookies and second year players we've added to the squad this season I don't think it's that bad. Definitely gonna have to add more pieces in the off season though. Personally I'd go with another pass rusher and another corner...

LB I think we're good IF Chenal can improve. Karlaftis is coming along just fine imo...

Yeah, if we can get Karlaftis to develop, another EDGE, and another safety this could be an interesting defense next year. For now the progress is very solid and I can't complain too much. Not asking the defense to hold teams to 17 a game. Just need them to not give up 27.

Joshua Williams' development one way or another will also be important.
