Couldn't care less about Minnesota's wins in shitty bowls.

BigTen fans know that the goal is to go to the Rose Bowl.

Minnesota keeps coming up short.

FEI ratings, points per drive ranking, UMn #1 in the nation, Oregon #93, lol.

Indiana has been to a Rose Bowl more recently

on the bright side, he'll finally get to see them play in the Rose Bowl soon. ;)

You do realize that Indiana TIED for the Big Ten Title that year, WITH MINNESOTA, and IU got to go to the Rose Bowl because Minnesota had recently gone to the Rose Bowl? That rule remained one of the main tie-breaking rules until at least Glen Mason was coach, because Gopher fans all knew they would have gone in 1999 or 2003 if only they had won one more game to finish in a tie for the Conf Title.

Partial data once again. In 1967 IU, Minnesota and Purdue finished at 6-1 in the B1G. IU beat Purdue, Purdue beat Minnesota, and Minnesota beat IU. Yes IU got the nod because they hadn't been to the Rose Bowl for a longer time than the other two. But, OMG what a list of mediocre scheduling.
IF one removes the two games that each school played against the other Co-Champs here's what is left of their regular season schedules...
Indiana...
Kentucky (2-8) W 12 10
Kansas (5-5) W 18 15
Illinois (4-6) W 20 7
Iowa (1-8-1) W 21 17
Michigan (4-6) W 27 20
Arizona (3-6-1) W 42 7
Wisconsin (0-9-1) W 14 9
Michigan State (3-7) W 14 13
8 games and NOT a single opponent with a winning record!!

Minnesota...
Utah (4-7) W 13 12
Nebraska (6-4) L 0 7
Southern Methodist (3-7) W 23 3
Illinois (4-6) W 10 7
Michigan State (3-7) W 21 0
Michigan (4-6) W 20 15
Iowa (1-8-1) W 10 0
Wisconsin (0-9-1) W 21 14
8 games and ONE opponent with a winning record and Minnesota lost that one to 6-4 Nebraska!!

Purdue...
Texas A&M (7-4) W 24 20
Notre Dame (8-2) W 28 21

Northwestern (3-7) W 25 16
Ohio State (6-3) W 41 6
Oregon State (7-2-1) L 14 22

Iowa (1-8-1) W 41 22
Illinois (4-6) W 42 9
Michigan State (3-7) W 21 7
8 games and FOUR opponents with winning records. Purdue beat 3 teams with winning records.

Indiana ended up #4 in the AP Poll. Purdue finished #9, and Minnesota not ranked (taken before Bowl games). WHY???

Yeah, and their closest loss both years was to the Conf Champs.

In 1999, they took eventual Conf Champs Wisconsin into OT. UMn wins that game, they tie for the Conf Title and go to the RB.

In 2003, they had a 3 td lead on eventual Conf Champs Michigan at the end of the 3rd quarter. If UMn hangs on to win that game then they tie for the Conf Title and go to the RB unless they went in 1999.

Partial data? Dude, sometimes you only need the basic facts, dumbass. I was NOT trying to boost up 1967 Gophers or anything. Just stated a simple fact.

You were pushing the fact that Minnesota TIED for the B!G title that year. Stop BS-ing and people will leave you alone. Unfortunately everyone is beginning to realizes that it is impossible for you to NOT BS. You simply are a pathological liar.

A pathological liar? LOL, you are a retard, truly.

Simple concept, some jackass tried using the fact that Indiana had been to the Rose Bowl more recently than Minnesota and I just pointed out THE SIMPLE FACT that UMn and Indiana, AND YES Purdue, too, all tied for the Big Ten Title, and the Big Ten's tiebreaker was, who has gone the longest without going to the Rose Bowl, that team got the nod. So this jackass thought he was dissing the Gophers by showing that Indiana had been to the Rose Bowl more recently than Minnesota, and I had to assume he was too stupid to know that Indiana got to go to the Rose Bowl out of sympathy basically, the Conf felt sorry for them. Minnesota had just been to back to back Rose Bowls in 1961 and 1962, so were not going to get the nod in the case of a tie.

Wow, Minnesota hasn't been to the Rose Bowl since 1962? 60 years?! What a trash program

Yeah, it WAS a trash program. That's what happens when an Admin gives up on a sport for 40 years. From the late 1950s until the late 1990s, the UMn Admin only gave the football program the bare minimum to stay alive. If not for those Rose Bowl trips in 1961 & 1962 the program would have been totally shut down. They wanted to follow the Univ of Chicago's example. The Natty in 1960 saved the program, then a changed attitude 40 years later began the 20-25 year process of rebuilding with the final pieces of the puzzle hopefully coming into place with the hiring of Fleck, DC Rossi and then the rehiring of OC KC. The trio is something like 16-3 here at UMn and has been a Top 5 nationally ranked defense with and without KC, now with him their offense is helping the defense out by keeping them fresh and off the field for the majority of games.

Guess it's fortunate for Minnesota that they can come in second and still go to the Rose Bowl, otherwise the drought would continue.

Actually I take that back, there is no guarantee the loser of the CCG goes to the Rose

Minnesota may forgo the Rose Bowl this year. They may accept the invitation to the cfp?

They beat Purdue, then PSU, then everyone else going into the CCG, where will they be ranked? If OSU is #1, couldn't UMn lose in a close game and get in? More than one prediction model out there already has 2 B1G teams in the cfp, why does it have to be OSU & Mich?

If those 3 finish the pre-bowl season

OSU 13-0
Mich 12-1
UMn 12-1

Then 2 are very likely to go cfp with the 3rd going to the Rose Bowl. If OSU beats Michigan by 14-17 and Minny by 3-7, you think they'd still take Michigan over Minnesota?

Better hope the PAC, ACC, and B12 champs all have multiple losses

I honestly think they will. The Pac has enough decent to good teams that they could easily beat up on each other, same with the ACC and definitely the Big 12 will beat each other up.

And honestly, UMn might prefer to go to the Rose Bowl and play an overrated Pac team vs going in as the #4 seed in the cfp to get beat up by Georgia?!
