If we miss out on a potential elite player to trade down and make an extreme reach on a 2nd round QB they should fire everyone immediately
Done with trade downs
Done with reaches

If they draft a QB in the first round in this QB class it's a damn reach! This QB Class is worse than the 2013 QB draft class. Hard to get even worse than that but this class looks to beat it lol.

That has been the rumor, but my guess is it will lean more into the Leo-hybrid (it has evolved into something beyond that over the years but I'll use the Leo scheme as a general reference).

I am interested in how they will shift personal on this. For an actual 3-4 you need the immovable rock in the middle, and 2 larger DEs. I would assume that means Taylor, Nwosu, Brooks, and maybe Barton are the starting LBs in this scenerio? Maybe they get smart and rotate Adams into that 4th LB slot when he isn't back in a safety slot? Rhettighan?

Ford can handle the middle DT duties in a 3-4, but I think he would be better as a DE in this scheme and maybe bring back Woods as a 3-4 DT? Not sure who the other starter would be? Jefferson? Mone? Collier?

A lot to figure out here. It will be interesting to see what happens.

That is a thought. I wasn't enthralled with him in the "standard" Seahawk's scheme considering their current DL personal but he could work in a 3-4. Then put Ford at one DE, and......????? on the other side.

Looks like the defensive scheme could be changed dramatically. If they actually go to a 3-4 that should put an end to talk of the D being the same old same old every year. It's an interesting development and another sign that things are going to be different this season.

Dunlap's presence on the roster (and as a starter) was one of the reasons I didn't think they would go 3-4. He has no position in that scheme. But since they just dumped him, it's could just academic at this point.

lol Seattle plays a hybrid bear front which is not a 3-4 or a 4-3 it's a mixture of both in a way. They have been using it now for YEARS and people always say "3-4" ... IT'S NOT A 3-4! more like a 5-2

I'm all for us switching to a 3-4 this season. We have the players to pull it off. Time to take the handcuffs off the defense and let Clint Hurtt run it how he sees fit.

Browns are working on resigning Jarvis Landry and Jadeveon Clowney. This comes after they restructured the contract of newly signed WR Amari Cooper and trading for Deshaun Watson. Looks as though the Browns are "all-in" on winning a Super Bowl this year.

No one says what we've watched for over 10 years is a 3-4 in any way. Signs are pointing at us moving to a more traditional 3-4 though.

They will still run their Hybrid front but the players it needs to succeed is different than what they had been doing. Lets not forget that in 2020 they ran a strong 4-3 base WAY WAY to much and it hurt the team. When Red Bryant was here they ran a Hybrid bear front and did so with Bennett also. I think they are trying to get back to that defense but then add a wrinkle with blitz boy Adams. They want more athletes at the Linebacker spot with more speed and they want a different animal at DE to try and cover the Weaknesses that is directly caused by blitzing your Safety 50% of the time. They know Adams can not win one on one on pass rush after decoying him in 2020 and letting him go man up in 2021. They will once again Scheme him into his sacks and that means someone is going to be filling in for our Strong Safety from a rotation often, Be it a DE or a true Linebacker.

I'm gonna bring Trent Brown back up. PFF graded him his highest this last season, but he missed nearly half of it. In fact, he's missed a lot of games in his career, including a stretch of 23 of 29 games from 2019-2021. So, is he the target because he's a great option, or because he can be cheap and cross fingers he doesn't get hurt again?

His health is the only thing about him that scares me but if healthy he'll be great for us at the T position.

I'm no questioning his skill, just his ability to be there to apply that skill.

He met with Seattle twice, but I believe he's looking for a long term contract. My thought is Seattle is willing to sign him with decent money but only a shorter term 1-2 year contract prove it deal. Hopefully they are able to do that. He's great when healthy, but that's been the problem.

I would love if we signed him and Cross fell to us at the #9. If we had Brown, Cross, Blythe, Lewis the OL would be pretty damn good.

That is a pretty good OL. Hopefully it happens that way.

Panthers are pursuing Duane Brown. Scott Fitterer who is the new Panthers GM is very familiar with him so I would not be surprised if Brown ends up there.

He's injury prone and that's usually what you want to avoid. Signing him is setting yourself up for a problem because it is every unlikely to stay healthy, then what do you do? It's the kind of desperation move that you need to avoid making.
