We will all be counting @Draft Crazy's snoozes until the next draft. It seems like a long lonely stretch.

We have time. I wonder how many O-Line we'll have on the active roster. On game day you need at least seven. The starting five and then a Swing Tackle and an extra inside guy. Maybe Muti can't be that extra inside guy right away but I think he can make the active roster without a problem. That might be better for him anyway. And if the numbers don't work out he can have some complications and go on IR.
According to this he ran a 4.92 and there are reports of his Pro day online where he ran a 4.87 so Strnad is definitely faster.

Strnad ran I believe as fast as Danny Trevathan

Close, Trevathan ran a 4.84 while Strnad ran a 4.74. Strnad is now our fasted ILB just beating out AJ Johnson who ran a 4.79(unofficial).

Who would you want over Hamler or Ojemudia? Asking for a friend. No but for real, just curious.

I am happy with Ojemudia because of my relationship with him, but like I said, I wasnt really expecting him there. I wanted Dantzler really bad there, but I can't help but be happy with Ojemudia... It is like Kayvon Webster all over for me... Guy I knew well prior to the draft but didn't think would go as high as they did.... Ojemudia was probably not making it back to our last 3rd though so if we wanted him that bad we had to take him.

I look at it like this.

Had we taken Cushenberry at 77 and Ojemudia the pick after.. I would have been perfectly fine with it, so does it even matter?

If Dantzler wasn't on the board then I would have even been more fine with it from a football side perspective of the pick.

I am not a fan of Hamler either.

My choice would have been Kristian Fulton, he was on my list and still available. Ran a 4.46. His height is an issue, but he is a ball hawk.

Jeudy I am a fan of.
Cushenberry, I am a fan of.

Everyone else is a "OK, the coaches and scouts liked him, OK by me."

The IOWA DB I am curious about, but I don't expect much from him. I don't dislike him, yet.

.

I don’t see Fulton’s height as an issue at 6’0”.

If teams can’t work with that at CB then they are struggling. Won’t find many CB’s 6’1” and above.

Something I noticed about this draft is that here wasn't a lot of reaching from teams as past drafts. It seemed like the players going where they went was very predictable most likely because of the shutdown due to Covid-19. Teams didn't fall in love with players projected a bit later on at their prodays, lack of workouts etc probably had a large part in that.

Few other things draft wise.

Ojemudia- One thing I always liked about him at Iowa was he NEVER had a bad game. He was very dependable and intelligent on the field, which is the kind of players Ferentz loves. He will throw a smart, trustworthy player out there any day over an athletic freak... and as we know with OJ at the combine, he has pretty good athletic ability. The one thing that I am unsure of/nervous of is if he can get any better than he is now? Or is he another Isaac Yidaom? Will he attack the ball better? Will he anticipate better? Things he has to do to become a good NFL cornerback.

Our undrafted class while small is intriguing.

Kendall Hinton was a former starting QB at Wake (A bad QB, good runner) who is still learning the WR position. He showed flashes this year but most of his season was lost due to a hamstring pull.

Douglas Coleman- 8 int's this year, 11 total in college. Had the famous fumble recovery for a TD vs Texas. @LGM will remember this one... Take a look, this is pretty incredible. This was the first player that really put him on the map for me his SOPH year.

Essang Bassey was a CB who nearly declared as a JR and had a draftable grade, came back and still had a draftable greade but went undrafted.

Watts is big, can he move? Is he stuck in mud?

Manning- I haven't seen or heard much about him, but his film is good. Tarleton State had a WR a few years ago that stuck out to me named Bubba Tandy. He never got an NFL shot, so Manning must be pretty good to get a shot whereas a very good Tandy did not from the same school.

LeVante Bellamy tied for the NCAA rushing mark for rushing touchdowns last year. He has great speed, but then ran a 4.5 at the combine which is sorta weird.

Riley Neal does nothing for me. He had an unappealing completion percentage in college. I don't see him making it, but he is competition. He was in and out of the starting lineup at Vanderbilt and at Ball State he was just ok at best.

One other thing I thought of. We haven’t drafted a wide receiver in round one since Marcus Nash. I was in high school

Check me for Alzheimer’s. Duh!!! Where did I go wrong missing that in my head as I was thinking this morning?

In fairness I try to erase Lelie out of my head since we passed up on Ed Reed.

My little mind is thinking again.
3 CB’s in Rd 1 since I have started watching the draft in second grade (Mike Croel draft)

Deltha O’Neal
Willie Middlebrooks
Bradley Roby

I am quite confident my Alzheimer’s hasn’t kicked in while thinking this. But correct me if I’m wrong.

I love Hamler but, he'll have a tough time here. The drops will cause fans to turn on him instantly

I like that Hamler sees and admits his drops are a concern. Tells me he wants to work hard to improve that aspect of his game. Many WR’s would focus on their numbers the produce and won’t be concerned with the drops. For Hamler, it is a focus point to get better on.

One thing I like about Ferentz and his Dbacks - he teaches them all the dback positions - so Ojemudia should fit right into a Fangio defense on that skill alone.

I think Coleman makes the team and if he pulls off a fumble recovery for a 100 yard TD the other way against the Chiefs - just once in his career - it will be a great career.

Bellamy - has some top level moves and speed. The Eagles thought they had a deal with him, but the Broncos out bid the Eagles. If Devontae Spencer gets injured - Bellamy might have his opportunity to make this team too.
