In the comic books, it is not until Rocket Racoon sees the cat that anyone has a clue and since that might happen in the Avengers movie we may have to wait

Is it basically just a regular cat until then?

I have a hard time believing they are going to feature her pet cat prominently without making it special in some way. Waiting for the second movie makes that tough.

I get that. But it has been prominent in posters for CM. I find it hard to imagine it will just be a cat for the whole movie until the reveal in Endgame.

I’m really only interested in this movie for whatever tie in is in Endgame.

Capt Marvel was always a B list marvel character but they’ve tried and failed to make her the flagship.

Marvel will have made a big mistake if they Mary Sue her.

I don't think they Mary Sue her. I don't know the character all that much, so I am excited for the movie...plus the 90's references are going to be great. But I am sure she has some flaws or issues. She can't be perfect.

There’s a lot of good reasons to see this movie. The Kree-Skrull war is an important story arc in the comics. Obviously there may be allusions to what’s coming up.

But the PR for this movie has been terrible. I don’t think the lead is a terribly good actress and her comments are pissing off a lot of people. Marvel knows how to tell a story. They’ve proven it. Don’t need to club the audience over the head with certain messages or tropes.
