Conley or Chris Harris. I liked Jim Schwartz, but I think maybe his ego is getting in the way. He is stubborn in his love for Mills, and/or changing up some schemes.
I would be good with that. Maybe even a higher pick. DJax is a proven game breaker, he tends to disappear at times, but maybe Wentz could keep him in line.I'd give a 5th for Djax. Perhaps a 6th next year too conditional on games played.
If we give up a 3rd and a 4th for DJax I will call the cops on Howie as he is clearly on drugs lol I am not even sure I'd give up a 5th. Teams aren't exactly lining up for him. He is a one trick pony at this stage though still good at getting deep. I have no idea what his contract looks like either
You guys overvalue the fuck out of draft picks. Hmmm you can have DJax or Donnell Pumphrey (I don't even give a fuck if I spelled his name right).
Hell, name a 3rd or worse rounder the Eagles have drafted in the last 10 years you'd take over DJax. My guess is that number is less than 5.
That’s a fair point. I guess when thinking future picks I often think “it’s not the devil you know....” meaning, who could we get with that pick next time around?
And more to the point....this season is proving lots of holes. Picks might be overvalued but when you need to replenish for going forward more picks gives you flexibility to move around and make the right picks.
but even if you get the guy you want, its a crap shoot. Coaching has as much to do with it as any 4th rounder's talent. Even look at the number of 1st and 2nd round picks that are still on our roster. Danny Watkins and Marcus Smith are completely out of football.
I would posit that the same dependence on factors, like coaching, matter for a player like DJax.
Essentially we are debating the idea of spending a, let’s say 4th rounder, on DJax. I think the big difference is that we talk about spending that on a proven player vs an unknown rookie. And I get that. DJax has proven himself in the pros.
He has also fit a mold the last few years of being a guy that has a few big games a year and is nonexistent in the rest. And Father Time tells me that this is the ceiling for him going forward.
Now....there could be other factors. For instance, we need speed. We don’t need 100 yds and a td every game. So maybe that increases his value to us. But that also has to be weighted against the fact he’s aging and could fall apart at any time.
With a young QB and all the future promise I would rather spend that 4th on the future and not the now. Let’s face it....Danny Watkins and Malcolm Smith don’t represent how they are evaluating talent and drafting now.
I'm just saying I see trading picks for proven players over potential for a team that isn't in rebuild mode. Picks can very easily be the next Marcus Smith, Jaiquawn Jarrett, or name your bust. I like that we have been successful lately, but it could go the other way next year.
I am not worried about draft picks I am more worried about the cap hit of a player we bring in. From what I have heard we have very little this and look really bad for 20109. I wouldn't want to bring in Djax if it costs us Brandon Graham.
NFL trade rumors: Dolphins moving DeVante Parker? Raiders dealing Karl Joseph? Latest on Steelers' Le'Veon Bell
I'd take Joseph in a minute. Sign me up!
I think so. I will do some more research, but this is a start.I like this. The contract and cap make for a really smart “look and see”. Reasonable costs and we could be out totally free and clear by next season if it were an abomination.
Counter point....if he really works out well we would have another (possibly) starting CB to sign during a year we would need to be shedding salary.

Yeah. I think this is it for BG. Howie will find his replacement in the draft imo. That will free up some big cap space along with Foles leaving.BG may not be back next year.
