I mean honestly this is about what I expected. Maybe the M's are actually doing a bit better than I expected against the Red Sox/Yankees. I just really don't feel they are in the same league as either of them or Houston.

That doesn't mean they suck. They are miles and miles better than they have been the last 17 years.

M's just have more work to do to be more than a flash in the pan WC team that makes it there and gets sent packing quickly. JMO.

If i was Felix i would be asking myself why the hell didnt i get out when i had the chance.

When he was a dominant pitcher they cant score runs for shit.

Now that he’s less dominant and can score some runs for him... they will cant win.

This one fking hurts there’s no bs and sugarcoating it

To be fair, they are also due for a series lost. They haven’t lost one 11-12 series ago

Feasting almost exclusively off sub .500 teams. Think the Angels are the only team they have beat in a series in the last month that is above .500.

I truly think we are the best of the non-playoff teams...for whatever that is worth.

This was the game they HAD to have because they aren't going to win tomorrow.

What a waste of a decent start by Felix.

Sure feels like the old mariners we know so well doesn't it? I'm sure Felix is telling everyone how it feels like old times again.

Yeah, bummer ... This was one of those message games, and the message got delivered, but were not the ones that sent it ... Lot’s of baseball left, but this one showed us a lot, Yankees are the better team by far right now ... M’s need to make a move at some point to get better if they want a chance at the series later... Yanks and Boston are gonna be standing in the way, Astros as well...

There aren’t many clubs in the AL that are over .500. They beat who they’re supposed to beat if they are considered “good”

It seems the pen has been half ways decent (although inconsistent) when they play sub 500 teams. Put them up against the top teams and it seems it's been a different story, today was a classic example; up 5-1 then losing the game. I think it's possible that how Servais uses the arms in the pen MIGHT have something to do with that. :noidea:

Frustrating thing for me is the fact that we run Cook out there with almost a 6 era instead of Diaz... Yet, the Yankees run their Ace out there in a tie game and maintain the lead... I have no idea why Cook was ran out there in that moment... Ugh...

There are 7 teams over .500 and 8 under it. Hardly lopsided. M's just hit a streak for a while where they hit a whole lot more of the 8, than the 7. And the M's did exactly what they needed to do against those teams. Something they didn't do enough of in prior years. That's why I said they are kings of the second tier, but that's still an improvement. They aren't ready to get up on the porch with the big dogs yet, but they are fighting up on the steps to it anyway. I'll take that over the last 17 years.

We suck because we've lost to the best team in MLB?
No, I said that's what HE (ace) was saying in his post. I just like that gif.

I followed it up with what I was saying.

We were all concerned with the Astros, Angles, Sox and Yankees a the beginning of the month... We're 6-4 against them so far... Not bad... We still can finish strong in this series... Today's loss though is definitely frustrating...

Oh they are probably a playoff team. I mean since they added that second WC anyway. They wouldn't have been a playoff team throughout the entirely of the history of baseball prior to 2012, but that's another story. They likely are now. They won't get anywhere with it, but at least we will probably get to see Paxton go out and flame out against either Boston or NY in that 163rd game before their inevitable clearing out the lockers day.

What was our record last year? Even if we do squeak into the 2nd WC spot, won't that be progress? We complain each year about our team and we're finally on the verge of a postseason appearance and you make this comment? Paxton go out and flame out? Are you hoping for that so you can be right?

What was your expectations for the team before the season started? I'm going to assume, not very good... If that is the case, aren't they exceeding your expectations?

I made a comment regarding Servais use of the arms in the pen and I also questioned why he ran cook out there under the circumstances with NY in this game. I still think he is in the learning stages for a manager. If you watch post season interviews he just doesn't present any confidence building messages. Just my opinion is all. :noidea:
