So after last nights game the lead story on MLB was about the Sox big win. Spewing all sorts of crap about bogaerts and their win.

What is the lead story tonight?

Note on the right there isn't even a blurb about the game. It's nothing but Houston.

And yes, the top story about Boston last night was up within minutes of the end of the game so I'm not just too early.

MLB only wants to cover their chosen teams. It's not a story when one of them loses despite the M's spotting them 6 runs in one inning. No, that's not news.

It was funny i was listening to 710 earlier and they were saying MLB Network started showing a lot of our highlights yesterday or something like that. And the only reason was because they never show our highlights and the Mariners most likely arent going anywhere this summer. So they are trying to shove highlights down peoples throats so they know we exist and they can ratings.

Naw, it wasn't a bad piece.

The only thing said that showed their take is -

The surprising Mariners have won 21 of their last 27 games and stayed one-half game back of Houston in the American League West at 45-22. Nearly half of those victories have come by one run as Seattle is an MLB-leading 22-10 in one-run decisions.

And even then, just saying the surprising mariners wasn't really that bad.

Bad 1 inning, an aberration for sure, but a fucking gutsy win. MVP is Rob Whalen.

Looking at the big picture here though, our biggest competition for a playoff spot, the Angels, who are ~8 games back, just had to put 4 guys on the DL including their best SP and their closer. The goal this year is to make the postseason. Regardless of how this gauntlet goes, and how easily the Astros cruise through some of the worst teams in the AL, that goal appears to be firmly in our grasp.

Try to keep the big picture in mind when a few errors happen or we leave another guy stranded at 3rd with 1 out.

Oddly enough, I have a feeling that Astros fans have been saying the same thing about the Mariners lately. The nice thing about this M's team is that they didn't take the fact that they were playing bad teams for a while for granted. They did what they were supposed to do and Houston is doing the same thing. The difference is that it's taken as a given that Houston would take out lesser teams while the Mariners have been so bad for so long that people are still getting used to the idea of the Mariners taking out the teams they're supposed to take out.
