He’s been there since Tressel left, you’ve had him long enough. Can we get JT back?
This is great news. I'm interested to see how this impacts bowls at the end of the year, or games like Mich vs. OSU. Guys can just be plugged in at the end of the year without burning redshirts.
U really want him back? I truly believe he is the reason Ohio st isn't holding at least 1 more titleCan we get JT back?
Yes - you can let the entire roster play and not burn any redshirts. After thinking about this more it will also be really interesting to see how this impacts the non-conference scheduling. It might make sense to do what Alabama does and put a cupcake game in November, for no other reason than to give all your redshirts a chance to play. That was my thoughts too.
With 3 games remaining on a schedule (plus bowl), can you now let everyone play?
Bro, 4 games = every SEC OOC. Or more accurately, the 3 they play against scrubs and one of their own bottom feeders. So pseudo development league.I like the change, but IMO 4 games is a little much and definitely surprising they allowed 4 games. That is a quarter of the season. I thought at the very least allow a bowl game.
My guess is every single RS Frosh will get PT in the bowl game for sure, and probably many coaches will utilize the 4 game limit and most of these RS Frosh will play in 4 games.
So, those required SEC second to last games against scrubs will now be packed with every frosh with games left to burn? That should be neat.
Don't get your panties all in a tiff. No one said anything about only SEC teams using all 4.Is this not what every team is going to do? Give playing time/experience to kids in the easy games that get out of hand?
I'll bookmark this thread and we'll see how many would have been RS's are burned when Washington plays Oregon St.

The biggest difference is most SEC teams have that late cupcake. If you burn all of your 4 early and have an injury somewhere you end up burning a RS year. Most other teams will probably save at least a few that don't end up getting used. Any team that has crap games late will more readily be able to take advantage of it.
He asked why 4. I answered. You play Oregon St the same week we play FCS.
Not much difference.

You overreacted and I cleared it up.
What part are you not getting?
