Odor needs to show something before Elvis gets back. With all of the injuries, there’s no doubt he will be in there everyday right now.

He’s already had roughly a year and a half. He’s got 3-4 weeks to not be some turd who strikes out almost every AB.

If Elvis comes back, Odor is still playing awful, Profar continues to out play Odor, and they sit Profar , then some of these coaches need to be fired.

At this point you would have to judge on potential. At least 3 of them are considered much better prospects overall than Deshields ever was. I wouldn't expect any of the 5 to ever be available in the Rule 5 draft as Delino was. The better Delino does over the next year or two the tougher the decision would be, but that would also make the return in the trade better too. There are a lot of things to unfold.

2018 MLB Mock Draft: Keith Law has Rangers going prep bat

2018 MLB Mock Draft: The Texas Rangers select #15 in the 2018 MLB Draft, and Keith Law, in his first mock draft for 2018, has the Rangers going with a high school hitter, Jarred Kelenic out of Wisconsin.


Kelenic is lefthanded hitting outfielder listed at 6’1”, 190 lbs. Baseball America has Kelenic going at #13, to the Marlins, in their most recent mock draft, and there have been rumors that the Detroit Tigers have looked at him as a below-slot signing pick at #1. Kelenic is currently ranked at #11 in the BA draft rankings, while MLB Pipeline has him at #8.


Kelenic is considered a potential five-tool player, with his bat and power potential garnering praise. He’s a center fielder right now, but it sounds like there are questions about whether he will be able to stay there as he gets older.


The knock on Kelenic is that Wisconsin isn’t exactly a hotbed of high-level baseball talent, and he’s had limited playing time this spring due to weather, which means scouts haven’t seen him as much. That said, it sounds like there is a good chance he’s off the board when Texas picks.

2018 MLB mock draft: Fangraphs latest mock draft out

2018 MLB mock draft: Fangraphs has their latest version of their mock draft out today, and they have the Rangers taking North Carolina high school outfielder Jordyn Adams at #15.


The Fangraphs guys say they Rangers are are “tied mostly to upside prep types,” which has been pretty much the team’s m.o. for a while now. Adams is definitely someone who fits the Rangers’ draft profile, being a high-risk, high-reward toolsy type who also plays football, and who could be a star if his hit tool develops.

That is absurd. HRs is everything to some. Maz tries to hit the ball where it is pitched. He will not hit as many HRs as Gallo but I will take him 100% of the time with the game on the line and the winning run on 3rd with less than 2 outs.
