So is Lando’s droid going to end up being Lobot? I know the two go WAY back, but isn’t he supposed to be primarially human just with some cybernetic implants, not a full on droid?

I forget his back story.

Since Disney is writing it the droid will probably look like David Hogg.

Looks uneventful. "Let's show a bunch of cool FX scenes, and then the Falcon, and then we'll have Han Solo NOT SAY HIS NAME BECAUSE THAT WILL BE SOOO COOL, RIGHT!?"

I'l be straight to video on this one. The stupid 'teaser trailer' told me nothing outside of Han Solo will probably start out like he's going to be a bad guy and then be a good guy and hate the Empire. Basically see the stupid Battlefront 2 storyline.

Awakens was extremely meh. I don't buy the "They are rebooting it for the kids!" Fuck the kids.

Rogue One was whatever. I can't even remember one character's name. Felicity Jones was in it, that was a thing? And Forest Whiittattaker was wheezing and shit. The cool 2 minute sequence with Darth Vader was nothing new.

TLJ was a mess and all over the place. There were no interesting characters outside of Rey/Kylo and they fucked with their time to show us Asian chick, pink hair lady, and the stuttering dude... And the most boring chase scene ever filmed in a movie.

I liked them all. :) Loved the characters in Rogue 1. Certainly all 3 were better than the prequel trilogy by a mile (although not saying much)

It's being released on the 25th b/c that's the 41st anniversary of the original Star Wars movie, Ep4 ANH.
May the Fourth is more “Star Wars” than May 25th. Especially if they don’t market the fact that May 25th is the 40 year anniversary.

This movie is pretty much going to be the worst performing Star Wars movie at the box office, they don’t need to compete with Avengers and Deadpool in two weeks as well.

Why isn’t this opening today? Makes no sense.

The same reason Infinity War got its opening weekend rescheduled a week earlier than its originally-scheduled weekend: because Disney is trying to avoid cannibalizing its own box office against Infinity War.

Honestly, even May 25 is a mistake. Disney should have pushed Solo further back into the summer. They somewhat underestimated just how big Infinity War would break out and how good its chances would be, with some more favorable scheduling, at breaking the TFA/Titanic/Avatar records.

They don't want to cut into the Avengers. Gotta space the blockbusters out a bit it's like $50 to take a family of 4.

All the reasons stated here are good, legit reasons.

But Disney produced both movies. And created the schedule for both. Seeing a May 4th fall on a Friday should have given them a priority of opening a SW flick on this day from day 1. As they were making the schedules years ago, Solo should have been priority for today, then schedule everything else accordingly.

$5 Tuesdays were awesome! Then our theater upgraded to recliner seats and assigned seating. No more Tuesday deals. :lame: So I rarely went to the movies. :finger: Then signed up for Moviepass and :nutswing:

The theaters around me that do $5 Tuesday’s have kept that since getting recliners

That said, I also have movie pass. It’s just simply the correct move

The movie seems destined to fails anyways because Disney decided to break a pattern they set by releasing a new Star Wars movie every December. There's so much shit surrounding this movie in regards to them having to hire an acting coach for the lead(the guy playing Han Solo), them taking so long to release any footage of the film, I think it's gonna bomb.

Force Awakens did huge numbers but ever since each Star Wars movie has been declining in either quality or box office revenue(TLJ bombed in China and barely beat Rouge One which was a story about characters only the hardcore fans knew), not to mention TLJ left theaters quicker than any Star Wars movie in history. It doesn't look good for Solo just basing off lack of real any major hype or people are burnt out from Star Wars.
