What are your 5 favorite tracks from this year? Imo, its been a down year but there are still some good songs out there.
War on Drugs has been given a lot of 'album of the year' praise but most of the tracks sound very similar. I think Ocean Between the Waves is the best of the bunch and gives a really good Dire Straits feel and is a very good listen on a sunny day. Probably my favorite track of the year.
Linkin Park's new rock album came and went without any rock fans recognizing or any pop fans liking it but I think its some of their better stuff. It does tend to get bogged down with the same lyrics over and over again much like Nine Inch Nails 'With Teeth' album that came out about a decade ago. Like that album, I think this one will be under appreciated.

A good mix of Enya and something darker like a Tori Amos or a PJ Harvey.
Like their song DLZ, it borrows a lot of pop hooks that work. A good earworm

Pretty much just a Marilyn Manson song sung by a chick. But it works
So what are your favorite tracks from 2014?
