How much did that 70 Beetle set you back? About $800?

I'm an old fart that's had over 50 different vehicles (cars, trucks, vans). Always more than 1 at a time and as many as 6 at a time. Parents used to joke about me having a used car lot. Partial list would be....'66 Fury conv, '66 Galaxie 2dr hdtp, '68 Chevelle 4 dr (slowest car I've owned), '73 Vega GT, '65 Ford van, 2 Toyotas, '67 VW Fastback, 4 different Fiats (love'em & miss a couple), a dozen Datsuns/ Nissans, '64 Olds Super 88, '92 & '99 Dakotas, and many more. I sat down and made a list of them once and thinking of them made me miss some of them for different reasons. My Toyotas were both a P.O.S. You couldn't give me another Toyota. My VW had the old style rear suspension that folded up going through a zigzag in the road and rolled over. Wish I had my '72 Datsun 510 2dr back. It handled like a race car in corners. Had a '77 Datsun 810 wgn that has the 260Z mtr (6 cyl) but was dissappointed it was so de-tuned and slow in the wgn. Only makes I haven't owned yet are Cadillacs, Corvettes, Chryslers, Geos, Audis, BMWs, Range Rovers, and a couple I haven't thought of.

Three aleros huh. I got 200K out if mine. Nice car. Tranny finally went.
Alero was a bad mufuka. My ex wife got it in the divorce, quit making payments and got it repossessed. Ruined my credit for years. I hate that bitch.

My boss and his son like parking their fancy big trucks (Limited & a Platinum) around my little guy. I think they do it on purpose to make me look poor, just took this pic. :tsk:

You have to love pickup trucks with Tonneau covers... Its like a sign that says, "I don't drive a pickup because I need one, I drive one because I have a small penis".... a.k.a... "My other car is a hummer"

They are really, really nice. I went to look at the new 2014 Sierra's and came home with a used Canyon lol. Blew my wife's mind. I like the Canyon but figure I could use the money I'll save towards a fast ass car of some type.

I recently test drove a GMC Denali 2500 truck... They want 64K for it and won't budge at all.

Sad thing is.... I am considering it. That thing is freaking awesome!

LOL, that's pretty much the case here. He says if he needs something hauled he'll just get somebody already on the payroll to do it in a company truck. I don't know why he just didn't buy a nice ass SUV or something. All he has in the back is a set of golf clubs.

FIFY  It's just another Chevy p/u with a square box body on it. I see them with the p/u rear diff and no ground clearance. What a joke :laugh3: I would respect ANYONE that drives a real Hummer.

Indeed. If you have a Tahoe, you pretty much have a Hummer.... only less douchy. The real Hummers with that A frame are cool as shit.

Yeah I think bama is right, its a Tahoe.

I rode in a real one several years ago... and let me tell you, you don't want to drive that thing as a daily driver. Rattles your teeth out.

Are you kidding. Driving that Horizon on the DC beltway was as terrifying/exhilarating as sky diving and bungee jumping all in one!

Driving on the DC beltway in ANY vehicle is both terrifying & exhilarating - not to mention a real challenge

No what a tonneau cover means is that you live in an area like Northern Indiana where you get lots of snow and ice. The tonneau cover allows you to NOT have to constantly shovel out the back just to use it. Also it means you can use the bed of the truck to haul things when it is raining.

What a dope as usual.

I grew up in a hilly area in Oregon where it rains most of the year and snowed most winters. When winter was coming, my dad would put a pallet with cans of pea gravel on it in the bed of his p/u to give him better traction. A tonneau cover adds practically nothing and reduces rear wheel traction.

4 wheel drive and I still put 250lbs of cat litter in the bed of my truck every winter. TCs do not reduce traction enough to matter.
