I am not a dr, so if you are, I will bow to you, but DrB IS a doc and he said in his write-up of this thing yesterday that the success rate for guys having a second TJ is not very promising.

Of course, anything can happen, but it ain't looking good for the bearded one right now.

Lol, I'm not a Dr.

It's not going to be easy, but it's not like he's Joey Devine and getting one barely a year after completing his last. Lets X our fingers and hope we have Weezy back my next May... at a much discounted price to boot

It's not really as stressful a surgery as it used to be. I'll never say an invasive operation is routine, but TJ is about as routine as it can possibly get.

It's arthroscopic, they harvest the ligament form your body so there is no rejection, and it's really 80% rehab 20% actual surgery. They have this crap down to a science these days.

I think they harvest a tendon.

But he was 21 during that operation. He'll be 30 this time around. And I don't really know the history of guys having it done a second time.

Just things to consider. He may come back his best yet

Notwithstanding that this will be his second TJ, the original Tommy John was 32 when he had the surgery, and then there's Jamie Moyer who got it at 47..... so the age thing is probably not a big deal.

Well, there are probably a few things we could do at 21 that we could not do at 30. Just a few things, though.

With Wilson's work ethic I don't see rehab as an issue. The dude will come back with a decent chance at being what he was before the injuries hit last year. The downside is that he also risks coming back too early because he is so competetive.

The only 2 things I can think of are 1) drink/stay up all night (no not that! I can still do that (well maybe not all night, I got shit to do woman! Uh where was I? Oh yeah - I mean stay awake all night) and 2) be 185 pounds instead of 210.

But hell I could throw a mean 77mph when I was 21 I could still chuck it 77 now (once) ... then drive left handed to the hospital, shit I'm old.

But this is BWeezy he's professional he'll be back good as new!

But Rijo ate the souls of all the Dominican kids to help himself recover. Weezy only uses an army of Ninjas to assist...
