Maybe I'm biased because I live in north jersey but I say if I had to pick give me the flyers. I was lucky to be young enough in 94 to not take it to heart. But I couldnt stand seeing a parade in nyc with henrik leading it. Ugh!

Agreed, have to go Philly. I Know far fewer Philly fans than Ranger fans. Not to mention the papers, the news, all the fairweather not real fans that start trash talking, it would not be fun.

Yeah Philly without a doubt. I might dislike the Flyer players and Philly might have some real a-hole fans, but I live too close to NY to deal with their stupidity.

I don't even hate the NY Giants and I cannot stand their fans the last few years. Newsflash, the Giants are not a dynasty.

I got friends in south Jersey that like the Devils. Closer to coast instead of Philly, but in Flyer country and they still rather see the Flyers win over NY.

Remember all those seasons when they brought over guys like Lindros, Gretzky, Bure, Gomez, Jagr, etc.
I do think they got the better end of the deal for Nash, but is this any different than the past?
The names on paper mean nothing. I think after a grueling long season like last where they were winning low scoring close games all season, diving to block shots, giving 120 percent each night, getting yelled at by Torts nightly, plus squeezing out wins against the 7 and 8 seeds in the playoffs only to lose like that to NJ... I just don't see them repeating that kind of effort again.

I envision a slow start and panic just in time for the Christmas holidays. I could be way off.
Its just that I have seen this before.
If Henrik does not slow down an inch, he will again be the main reason for any success they have.

I don't think Torts realized the hole he dug for himself by pissing off the media. The New York media dictates who has a job when it comes to sports. Coaches, GMs, players, all live and die with the press and the second Torts slips up and the media decides to pounce on him he's done.

Let's just stop this thread. Neither Flyers, nor NYR are going to win. Flyers didn't improve their roster (thanks to Preds matching Weber). Rags traded solid defensive forwards who played a role in their successful last regular season. Let's worry about our Devils.
