After the news about Joe Walker, who was going to make the team, I looked at the roster. With all the talk about the WR and OL depth, the LB corps is as tenuous as any.

Hicks - starting MIKE
Kendricks - starting WILL
Bradham - starting SAM
Goode - primary MIKE back-up

Walker - IR

Now what? Are two or three of Cherry, Gause, Skinner, and Tavarres really going to make the team? I can't believe that would be the case. I suppose that Cherry has looked the best, but in a normal year that would mean the PS for him.

WILL/SAM free agents available:
Basically, no one. The few OLBs that I may reluctantly consider as depth (Hawk, Woodley, Shoefield) are all 3-4 OLBs.

I guess that we are waiting for cuts for LB depth. Just two so far that may be interesting (and have an article supporting their bubble status):
McNary (IND)
Morgan (SEA)

Finally! Guess we're all set at LB. Still would like another OT, unless LJ gets cleared. Think DGB will be huge for us.

Solid Vet/depth signing ... sounds like he may start on 1st/ 2nd downs right off the jump.

Where did you hear that he might be starting over Hicks? I think that would be a huge mistake.

Wonder if Tulloch can play strong side. Not sure he is fast enough to play weak side. The big thing is the guy knows the system. Playing linebacker behind a wide nine is not easy. Tulloch has excelled at it. At the very least he could help bring along Hicks. At the most he plays some significant snaps.

The knock on Tulloch is that he is a step slow now. I think he is a backup or early down run linebacker at most. But given the injury histories of Hicks and Kendricks, this is a solid signing. He will probably start some games this year.

Hicks would move over and Kenricks would go to the bench. Heard Pederson isn't too high on Kendricks. Read it, but don't remember where ...

OK. That makes more sense to me than pulling Hicks off the field. I'd still like to see what we have in the younger guys first though. I'm not sure how much Tulloch has left.

Rey is correct. Kendricks hasn't lived up to his potential, and we keep waiting. Besides, he is injury prone. Like him - don't love him. He has the attributes to be special, but so far, has disappointed.
