I think we've got enough hitting and, at the very least, a respectable if not overpowering starting pitching core to get that 2nd wildcard spot.
It all depends on our bats. If they all go collectively cold at some point of the season, we'll look average. If they hit to their potential (and, honestly, no I'm not expecting Davis to hit 50 homers.. even 40 seems a tad high), then they'll cover for some of the not-so-great pitching games we'll likely have. I can see quite a few games where we win 8-6 because of our bats, not because of the 5 runs in 6 innings one of our starters had on a bad day.
I'm hesitant to call Norris an 'x-factor'... just doesn't feel right somehow.. but I think any success on his part will factor large on the overall team's success early on.
