such excitement is tainted.. as chrome dome's name isn't included. i cannot stomach his creepy smile and demonic laugh.

"Among those thought be potential replacements are former Phillies closer Brad Lidge, who was 48-for48 in save situations during the 2008 World Series championship season, Chris Coste, a backup catcher on that team, and former All-Star closer Ricky Bottalico, who currently serves as a postgame analyst."

Chris Coste? With their 2.5 billion dollar TV contract I thought they would go for Howard Cosell's frozen head....

Wow. Sad day. I'm a minority, but I really liked the two. (Well, truthfully, I only liked Sarge because of the comedic relief he brought to the game to take my mind off how poorly the Phillies have been playing.) Still, I'll really miss the two. I wonder what caused their departure- especially Wheels, who's been in the booth for over 4 decades.

On a side note, Chris Coste would be awesome. I've always loved the guy.

Couldn't stand Wheels or Sarge rambling throughout the game, especially when they were losing - it was taking away from the actual game

Chris Coste, Brad Lidge or Ricky Bo would all be good choices - time to get younger in the booth

They should have dumped McCarthy. I can't stand his stupid cackling laugh. Like I'm watching games to hear him being entertained. Wheels has some quirks but he's much less annoying. Sarge really does succumb to rambling too often. I wonder if Merrill Reese can do baseball.

They should have dumped those dudes on the radio as well. Their conversation is old boring and just not funny or interesting.
